Do you talk while you eat?

A friend of mine said he almost HAS to talk while he eats at the table, I on the other hand HATE talking while eating.
While food is present and being eaten, Do you prefer to do the talking while the food is still being eaten?
Or would you rather wait until eating is finished?


What about you, do you like talking while eating?
Or do you prefer music while eating?

I'd eat without talking. It feels uncomfortable talking while there's something inside your mouth. I'm fine eating with sounds around me as long as they're not too loud and irritating.
Ah, well it depends on my mood. If I feel good, I could talk with anyone freely without the feeling of being interrupted while I'm eating or about to eat. If I'm not feeling well and someone asked me a question while I'm eating, I'd make hand gestures or simply nodding my head while I eat, or give them short answers. It's still annoying when people ask questions or talk about things that you need to reply at the wrong time. I hope I answer it right this time.

Usually, no. I want to take the time to enjoy my food while eating in peace.
I'm not above letting music play while I eat, though.

In my family we usually talk during dinner coz its the only time we're together.

Well, it depends on who I am with while eating, and what is the mood of the place (like if someone among us are fighting each other over food, we try to stop it and keep silent until we finish our meal.)

I will talk while food is being served if I am out with other people, or between courses but not with my mouth full.

If I eat with someone together and the person talks while having food in his/her mouth...I want to stab that person >n >

I like to talk while eating, but will shut up and just eat sometimes.

My family likes to tell visitors if we are quiet then the food is good.

If I were to eat with somebody, usually yes. But I do only talk when I'm not munching my food.

It honestly depends, when its with my family ide prefer that noone talked because usually its just them yelling at me about shit. But when i eat with friends or whatever, i see no reason to sit there in silence, some of the best conversations have been had over food.

I always try to finish chewing before I talk, if I am chewing and somebody asks me something, I just nod and wait to finish chewing before giving a verbal answer.

No. It's not a habit I want. I also hate when people smack their lips while chewing.

I always minimize talking while eating because food in my mouth cant be chewed thoroughly before i swallow it,which gonna increase the chance of swallowing the unexpected stuff which can harm your throat,especially little things like fishbone or link what you eat to the wrong (the food might go into your nose or lung instead of your stomach).Moreover,talking while eating is considered not so polite behavior in my local place.
