So my best friend is thinking about getting back with his ex. Problem is, this ex of his has cheated on him not once, not twice, but three different times. I want to talk to him about this but I'm afraid of saying the wrong thing and having it backlash onto me and, in a worse case scenerio, end our 10+ year friendship. So what I'm asking is, is there any way to get it through his head that this is the worst decision possible, while at the same time, making sure that I don't single handily ruin our friendship?

Nope, outside of showing him she will again but it best if he realizes that it going to go back to it.. we men think with our hearts(dicks). If it happens then he has to do it with his own choice.

Relationships are funny. So often we tend to seek out the same type of person from relationship to relationship and never notice
I have an ex brother in law who married 5 different time..
Same girl different name but the same M.O.
After the last one he said "I cant believe I picked 5 losers in a row"
His little sister (my ex) said "Rog its not them its YOU"
Ain't it the truth

Go to the local free clinic and get some std pamphlets. every few times you are at his house leave one somewhere he will see it. never two times in a row, and don't let him see you leave it.

In all honesty, don't get involved. He's a big boy and he has to make his own decisions. Sure, you don't want to see him get hurt but you can't really stop him from harming himself if he's bound and determined to do it. Only he can deal with his feelings for this chick. To be the best friend you can just sit back, give him your honest opinion IF HE ASKS FOR IT, and be there to support him no matter what decision he comes to. Friends support, they don't decide for. Yeah, it sucks, but he's not 12 and you're not his dad. If you want your friendship to continue, sometimes you have to suck it up and watch him be a moron. At most you can tell him you don't think it's a good idea but then drop it! Good luck.

If you have a 10+ year friendship and it's worth anything, he should be able to take you telling him what you think of his prospective choices in love without getting butthurt. :/
So I think you should tell him what you think and leave it at that. Just let him know where you stand, why he shouldn't be with this girl again and let him make the decision. You shouldn't push what you think on him, but he should be made aware. That's how I feel anyway. I think that's what friends should do.

Agreed, friends are supposed to stand up for each other.
On my opinion, videotape his chick cheating on him and then show him and make him remember how terrible cheating really is.

Love makes a man stupid ,and women make a man weak...combine the two ,and you get a very stupid weak-willed individual that would rather lash out then face the truth..he may be his friend , but theirs really no way of knowing how he will take it no matter how good of a friend the guy is , so I can understand his concern.
On Topic: Their is nothing you can do for someone that's made up their mind , just be their for him when shit turns sour ,and if all else fails try and hook him up with someone else...if his brain isn't working maybe his dick is

Just give him a final advice....he's a grown up...he's supposed to know what's good and bad for himself...

If he really values your friendship, he wouldn't throw it away for a chick who cheated on him three times. If he does choose her over you, you should be happy for him and be ready to pick up the pieces if and when she cheats on him again.

At least that's what I would do.

She's already cheated on him three times.
I'm guessing he is already aware of this fact as they were ex's.
That means he is already willing to rationalize that away. Good luck trying to convince something willing to do that.

I'd say caution him against it without saying not to do it. If he asks for your opinion give it to him straight. If you guys have been friends for over a decade then I don't think something like that would ruin your friendship.

Just don't talk to him or treat him like the moron he is being and you should be able to convey your concern to him if you've been friends for 10 years. Don't expect him to say, "okay your right, I was wrong, you win." Instead, tell him what a bad choice he is making and then if he disagrees then tell him to think about it. He might not act immediately, but your words will effect him if you're as good friends as you say.
