Echoing in Skype

According to Skype's technical support, anytime you can hear your own voice echo and the other person cannot, it's on their end. Anyone ever have problems with this? I'm not a technophile by any stretch, so any suggestions/feedback is welcome.

That echoing is simply feedback, much like the screeching you hear when someone brings a microphone too close to a speaker. Have the person your talking to move their micorphone away from their speakers. If they use a headset there should be some settings in the sound properties that should eliminate this. The reason you hear yourself echoing and not the screeching is because of the lag between yourself and your partner.

I knew it was a feedback deal, it's basically picking up my voice and sending it back through his mic at me (correct?), we're both using headsets so it's quite unpleasant when it happens. Next time I talk to him I'll do a few tests and I'll see if I can get that under control. Thanks.
