yes you did read that right, i can indeed cook.... mostly sweet stuff though like cakes and stuff :P
anywho due to an emmense amount of spare time i have started to bake and make stuff, so i was thinking of doing like a once a week thing where i make summin then share recipe and pics
anywho first in my creational cooking skills i made what is comonly known as:
Millionaires Shortbread
it is shortbread biscuit with a caramel and chocolate topping
equipment needed
Swiss roll tin (preferably one with sides)
small pan
Shortbread Base
2oz of butter/margarine
4oz of caster sugar
6oz of plain flour
oven temp about 150 Celsius/gas mark 2/300 Fahrenheit
To make the shortbread base first cream your sugar and butter/margarine together once that is doen add your flour in small amounts, once it is in a doughy consistancy place into a swiss roll tin and roll out flat and place into the pre-heated oven for 20 mins
Caramel Topping
4oz of butter/margarine
3 tablespoons of Golden Syrup
4oz of caster sugar
1 small can of CONDENSED (must be condensed) milk
to make the caramel add all of the ingredients into a pan and stir together on a low heat, once then are blended the mixture should start to go a slight shade of brown (this is what you want it to do), once that happens take it off the heat and place to one side to cool down, once it has cooled and slightly thickened pour on top of your shortbread base making sure to cover it all, once done place into the fridge to cool and harden further
for the chocolate topping, just melt down a couple bars of cooking and pour over covering all of it
