The default setting is no expression, but if people shake hands with the wearer, the mask smiles. The project was designed to hide personal emotions by eliciting a different set of public facial expressions that could be used to generate conversation and response in public spaces."

I wanna make my own. No seriously. I'm gonna make make my own, since i don't think it's for sale yet nor do I want to spend possibly a thousand dollars on it.(or at least one of those projects in life that you started but never actually finished or touched in years) With that said, anyone here got a faint idea where i should start? Please feel to share your ideas and thoughts.

As for actually making one, the only hard thing about making it would be the facial expression recognition (IMO). Once you get that figured out, placing the LEDs shouldn't be too much of a challenge! Good luck to you! =]

Screw the facial recognition thingy, I don't have a secret lab behind a bookcase. But I do have A LOT OF FREE TIME...and a basement to dwell in.
Right now I'm thinking of Christmas lights and a switch or remote that makes the emoticons. As for the base or body... I don't know ceramics?
Well, off to studying how Christmas lights work...

I could see something like this being useful for theater. Otherwise, it's just one of those cool things that does absolutely nothing useful.
