Eureka Seven Movie, One Night Only Event - My Review
1
Well, I just got back a while ago from seeing the Psalms of Planets Eureka seveN: Good night, Sleep tight, Young lovers movie in theaters, thanks to Fathom Events and now I am here to write my review as well as the opinions of three other people I talked with.
For starters I give you links to two different threads about this movie

Also here is a torrent for the Movie, with English subtitles nano desu ^_^

Well the movie was set to start at 7:30 (which it did) and I entered the theater around 7:15 to see only half a dozen people seated. Going into this, since I'd already seen the movie, quite a few times as well I was really more or less there to enjoy the movie on the big screen and to see the other peoples reactions nano desu. Unfortunately perhaps half of the people here were/are most likely High School students and there level/degree of otaku-ness can be often questioned, I did notice about 3 adults (age 30+) then myself and a couple? a man and a woman around my age, they were Japanese actually and I wondered if he dragged her to this or the other way around nano desu, I wasn't able to ask them about there opinions on the movie however, still there was a lack of people in my age bracket.
Alright time for the movie to start....!!!! There's like only 30 people in here!! I am very saddened nano desu.
Movie starts, a few Bandai ads are shown etc, and then some idiotic kids a few rows ahead start shouting "BANDAI!!" as if they think this will get them cool status amongst there friends...moving on. I must stress that sadly the movie was dubbed T_T Now, when Bandai announced that this movie would be shown in theaters they never stated sub or dub, so we were left with hope, but it was shattered when the site said it was the dubbed version. So along with the other people we were doomed to listen to Johnny Yong Bosch's Renton for 2 hours.... yes this movie is 2 hrs long nano desu ^_^
Movie ends...
Now again I am just and observer, I already enjoyed the movie the first time and seeing it on a big screen did make the experience much more enjoyable. Upon leaving I was able to get 3 peoples opinions, thou judging from there appearance they were most likely high school students, with very little knowledge or past experience in anime/otaku life.
I asked the three the same 3 Questions:
What did you think of the movie?
Have you seen the 50 Episode TV series?
Would you have preferred if the movie was Japanese audio with English subbtitles?
Perhaps if I'd been able to talk to more people I could have obtained a much more detailed insight to the others opinions, but seeing as how the total number of viewers was around 30, these 3 I talked to make up 10% of the total movie patrons. Thou enjoying a movie with few outbursts etc is always nice, and I really did enjoy the movie regardless of what others may think, I urge you all to give this movie a change, it was intended to been by fans and non-fans, you don't need to see the TV series to understand this movie, so DL this and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did nano desu.

I had the chance to watch the movie a month ago on YouTube, it was the only site that had a working video at the time ( the comments area was spammed full of Noob Questions about the movie and TV series). Overall i enjoyed the movie, Even if it was i bit different from what most people thought it was going to be.
hmmm, overall i Prefer the Sub over the Dub version of the movie!!
And i loved the TV series, "eyes got a little teary at the end".
It was fun to see the movie turn out the way it did, it was a chance to see the characters in a new light, my only wish is that they would make just one more!!!

First I'm not sure if this belongs here seeing as it is an anime film and entertainment is more for Live action but I'm not totally sure. So I'm gonna wait a bit before adding it to the master list if it stays here I'll add it in my next update.
Now on to the questions
1. I liked it, was good for an anime film worth my 2 hours but not great (I hated the ending).
2. Yes and I loved the first half and hated the ending of that as well.
3. I've only watched the movie with Eng subs so I guess, but I liked the dub of the series not bad as dubs go so I probably would have liked it either way.

I saw the movie with a few friends, I thought it was alright. I expected Dub, knowing Fathom events will usually make it so if it's one night, it's dubbed, 2 nights it subbed, then dubbed.
I had seen the series, so I had a basis to go on. Alot of teen angst in the movie, which threw me off a bit. I was expecting some angst, but not that much.
As for the quality of the dub, it's not horrible, but I'm biased as I haven't heard the Japanese version.
The ending, didn't expect it, but expected it at the same time. I thought it would play out a tad differently, with Eureka staying normal, but the ending that actually happened was good too.
8/10, I might check out the sub tomorrow to give a better review of the dub.
