Today I was sitting on a bus going somewhere. All of a sudden, I see this lovely old woman going in the bus. So, I offered her my seat, like the gentleman I am. She thanked me the following way:
hmm...perhaps, it is because she is old and that her eyes cannot see as well as before. Perhaps, I really do look effeminate. Regardless, it made me feel odd. I may not be very masculine, but GODDAMN!
Anything similar happen?
                "Thank you, miss!"

Yes, though it's only on the phone. For some reason, most people that had heard my voice for the first time referred to me with a "miss".

It's always the old ladies, eh.
Was having dinner at some restaurant, then an old waitress asked me, "And what would you like, Miss?".
To be fair though, my hair was pretty long at that time.

Nope. My voice is ridiculously deep, and I don't have any effeminate features.
My voice is so deep in fact, that I could easily impersonate my dad to skip school when I was in grade 8. Which I did a few times.

Not since I was a kid. Could pull off quite a successful trap at that time, though. :D

When I was younger and had longer hair people often though I was a girl....I remember one day, I was walking on the street when someone asked me "Excuse me little girl,do you have the time" ..That always pissed me off..My hair was long but my face hardly resembled that of a girl

Only when people see my name but not me. I have the good fortune to be named Madison. And thanks to a Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah movie my name got turned into a girls name.

I've never been confused for a boy when people meet me, but I'm often mistaken for my brother when I'm on the phone. I think it's my voice that confuses people, it's kinda deep for a girl, maybe. :P

Only once. I used to have really long hair, and one time when I was at work stocking shelves. This old couple came up behind me so the could not see my face just my hair, and the old guy said "lets ask this girl" and when I turned around he was all surprised and exclaimed "Oh its a guy!"
-_-
It took me a a moment or two to recover from that before I could help them.

I experienced the same situation in the past. Likewise, I had slightly longer hair back then. In addition, when the service staff of stores are busy, they may assume one's gender based on one's voice, only to realize their mistake upon looking up.
On Fakku, I am not very sure of everyone's gender so I will usually use "s/he" and "his/her" in my replies when relating to a particular member.

In the sixth grade, I was going through a depressed/quiet phase right after back surgery which made my voice sound lower than it actually was. I went to classroom to go pick something up during the day and the teacher was at the board. I said, "Uhm.. Mrs. ________"
"Yes, sir?" She then turns around and immediately corrects herself. "I MEAN, Yes ma'am!"
:[
That teacher called sixth graders sirs and ma'ams. I have no idea why.
I guess I'm glad that's the last time anyone mistook my gender.
