Extreme Dreams

Can dreams where we die or are involved in serious injury cause actual death or physical harm?

I think it may be possible if you're a bit older.

Once, My dad had a dream where someone was chasing him with a gun and was about to get shot but was suddenly woken up by my mom. His heart was beating pretty fast and he was afraid that he might have gotten a heart attack.

So what do you guys think?

wow, My father have a similar dream like your father, only in his dream, he is together with my mom chased by a group of bastard.
Since my family is a buddhist, they believe in prophecy. The prophet said there is someone who are trying to hurt my family. With some kind of black magic, more or less.
I remind, you should become more aware, it can get really dangerous

i've had dreams to where they where just constant flashes and constantly changing from one scene to another and when i woke up my heart rate was very high, up to the point to where i could hear and feel my heart beating.

If that is possible, I just hope it stays a dream. I had an end of the world dream. You know where you see the ozone break in pieces and see Aurora Borealis all over the fucking sky and see lashes of flames all over the damn place. Man that day my heart was pounding all day. Fuck am I on crack?

A dream has caused me to spazz out and twitch once

I was dreaming of falling then I spazzed out of it and woke up =\

I believe that such dreams can possibly inflict harm to us even more if a person has a weak heart or is prone to panic attacks.

Well anyway, I also had a dream like that on which I was doing a bungee jumping on a skyscraper without any elastic cord or even a rope. Looks fun, right? When I was about to fall on the land, I was shocked and suddenly woke up due to that.

I once had a dream that my whole area was flooded and we were in my mom's car. We were hanging on to dear life as we felt the car sank. Right before the car filled up with water, I woke up. Here's the scary part, I told my dad that I dreamt that a storm was coming. He told me "Well, you're right, there is one coming later." I was scared the whole day knowing that

It's possible, but extremely unlikely. Like on one of the episodes of "1000 Ways to Die", a girl had a nightmare so bad that it caused her to go into cardiac arrest, and she ended up dying.

I just had a dream on which my books devour me. Crazy shit

after i broke up with my ex, i had this dream that i cried for the whole of the dream and when i woke up, there was no tears but only me breathing and heart beating like i just had a big cry

there was also another dream where there were these swamp of bees flying into my face and when i woke up, i could still see them and so i kept on waving my hands, then after maybe 10 seconds i noticed they were just illusions (almost fall off from the bed)

I had a dream similar to Knightbane's. Well, the concept at least...

My dream was zombies taking over. Its rather predictable whats going to happen in such a dream but I woke up sweaty and quickly looked outside the window to find everything normal. My heart was pounding hard as shit though.

I don't think a dying dream would make me actually die in real life. Some people say that if you die in a dream, you die and just don't wake up. I had a long dream were I was a trapped in a boat as it was sinking, but I after I finished drowning, (and blacked out in my dream which was weird), I floated to the top and realized I was a ghost. Then I finally woke up.

I had skydiving dreams~ insanity! Dx Yeah I'd wake up before the fall too haron! xD

YEAH I SAW AN EXTREME DREAM WHERE MY BROTHER WAS BEING MORE SELFISH THAN USUAL!! HE WASN'T LETTING ME WATCH T.V OR TAKE THE PC!! And yes it was horrible.

MINE WAS: I WAS BEING CHASE BY A GUY ONLY WEARING BLACK TORN CLOTH AND HOLDING A GOD DAMN SCYTHE,WHEN I WAS CAUGHT AND NEARLY CUT MY HEAD OFF I AWAKE AND FOR SOME REASON I CAN'T BREATH THAT TIME.

That's why I stop watching horror movies before sleeping.(Traumatized)

I used to dream about being paralyzed by a ghost. I would wake up feeling like I had just been winded.
So yeah, I believe that if a dream is severe enough, it can have effect on your body.

Just not in the sense of being stabbed in a dream and waking up to find a knife wound lol

I think I just always have those dreams where I trip or start falling for some reason and then jerk awake. It feels as if I've just been dropped into my bed.

Whenever I have a "bad" dream, I usually just think it's awesome.

One time I dreamed I was on a balcony when it fell off and I was crashing towards the ground, just before I hit the ground I woke up and just thought, "cool dream"

One bad/good dream I had was I was running away with some girl that had been taken prisoner (it was war) and we run away and have sex behind a rock on a hill outside the prison she was taken, in the middle of the war, AA guns shooting down airplanes and everything. But even what could be considered the bad part, was to me just cool.

Extreme dreams, you call that a nightmare.
For me, so far, I haven't experienced anything extreme other than waking up due to a normal nightmare.

I stabbed myself in the throat in the last dream I had, can't remember why but I think it had to do with zombies... it slid in really slowly and felt weird. But since you can't feel pain in dreams that was all I got, least it ended near then so I didn't have to feel myself dream bleed. I hate that feeling.

Apart from that i've only had a few genuinally scary dreams, in one I was looking down at myself sleeping and a hand came up from behind my bed and grabbed me, then either I dreamed jumping up and running to my parents or I really did it (i was a kid at the time). It was in 3rd person view still so I think i dreamed it.

When I was a kid just before the dream ended the dream used to dissolve around me and I would fall and keep getting faster and faster until I woke up. Felt really weird. All my dreams used to do that so you get used to it after a while.
