FAKKU Challenge Me

Lol, done.

I did it in one sitting, but I left out alot of details, and messed up alot too. D:
The elbow, for one. His body isn't wide enough, and the hair is... lacking.
On top of that, shading is shit, and it looks terrible overall. D:

Quadratic: I have a feeling i've seen that dude somewhere. Care to reveal his name? Also, don't worry if you think it's not too good. Just try again, and try to make it BETTER this time.

Even if you messed up the drawing , I was able to tell it was Luke von Fabre right away. You did nice detail work on his clothes so and his hair style so it was easy to tell who it was. :3

Wanda from Shadow of the Colossus
Spoiler:
I've been wanting to do a Shadow of the Colossus fanart for a long while. I finally took a couple hours to make a simple one. I'm thinking of entering this year's callendar with a SOTC fanart too.

Alright, time for serious discussion. I'm thinking of giving Challenge Me a rest.
I barely get any participants, much less constant ones. I don't know if it's because of the themes. Or if it is because of the time restraints. Or whattever it is. But it clearly isn't too successful. And I'm beginning to think it's wasted effort.
So my point is, would you guys like me to continue managing this thread, or do you think I should just drop it?

I definitely think you should keep it going! This thread is a wonderful showcase of people's work, tackling a variety of themes and subjects. It's probably tough for you to keep updating the theme weekly (props for doing so for so long) and getting so little response, but a lot of times people are too busy or just can't think of any good ideas. Maybe changing the theme every two weeks might get more participation? Or maybe have some in-depth critiques to encourage people to participate and get help with their weaknesses?
In any case, I still think this is a great thread for any artist here that's suffering from artist's block and needs some ideas on what to draw, and for some people who can only draw in a certain way to open up themselves to new ideas and subject matters.
And sorry, I don't have anything for this week. :P I'll certainly try and give a shot next week if you continue. :)

It's a wonderful idea, I just think the people that aren't very good don't want to do it because they'll look so... bad in comparison to the good artists.

Ah, thanks alot for the replies guys. :) I'll keep the thread then.
About the issue that Quadratic raised, I can relate to that. But I insist that you try and post your works anyway. Everybody starts out sucky, and gradually evolves, so it is nothing to be ashamed of. Just try to participate often, and you'll notice your progress really fast. You can even get some helpful critiques and tips as well (I try to give some, but I'll be more elaborate from now on).
ps: With only the works I made here, I managed to learn quite a lot about digital painting.
Yagaminoue, about raising the time of each challenge to two weeks, I believe that would be too much. In one week you can easily go all out on your best ideas. The second week would just be lazying around, and that's not what I want to achieve here. But thanks for all the suggestions.
Thanks once again for the replies, guys.

Well, you could have something like a beginner week.
3 weeks of normal challenges, and then the better artists take a week off, while the newer ones get to do a challenge specifically for them. It would work out, kind of.

Hmm I don't think I quite got your idea. Would you please elaborate?
Anyways, I'll take this post and drop this week's topic. I hope it's an interesting one.
It is Chimeras

Hmm... chimeras. They're just like a mix of two or more animals, it cna be anything, really.
As for my idea:
Week 1: Open to anyone
Week 2: Open to people with good(decent) art skills
Week 3: Open to anyone
Week 4: Open to people with not so good art skills
Yeah, it's not a great idea.

Yes, a mix of two or more animals. Remember, you can also mix humans.
ps: It doesn't have to be creepy. You can make something kawaiiii.

Yeah, it's not a great idea.
Hm, the idea of having 2 weeks where a group of people will be left off doesn't sound too good. And also, why divide ourselves between "good" and "not-so-good" artists? Who's to decide who is a "good" artist? Also, I think that would be a little demotivational.
Anyways, I'll be keeping the current rules for now, and adding one more.
2.5 I will not accept 2 minute drawings, as that completely defeats the purpose of this thread. Try to put some more effort into it.
For people not to be lazy! ò_ó

Edit:

What about collabs...?
Like two or more people get together to draw something...?
Im not too good with drawing the figure, but my coloring skills are a bit above craptastic sometimes...
So anyone that can draw kinda good but cant color should gimme a holler...
Cept since I got a job and other stuff is goin on I prolly wont get much done too fast...

Sorry that I haven't been on for a while, way too busy with school...
I'm also up for collabs, either drawing or coloring (prefer coloring)
