I had kind of a crappy tablet so the line isn't quite as smooth as to what I'm used to do with my own tablet. Though I kind of like it?

Yes I think 8 is the normal one for adults, I think it start at 3 heads depending on age ...

It's actually closer to 7.
People draw 8 (and more) because it looks better.
Our perception is strange that way.
