FAKKU's Translation Accuracy Issue
-1

I saw this earlier in 4chan so I want to ask the community itself. How reliable and accurate are FAKKU's official translations? Are their translators actually fluent Japanese speakers, or do they mostly rely on translation apps? I'm actually inclined to believe the post but I'm still not sure. It would be great if there are anybody around here who knows Japanese and can check the raws vs FAKKU's translation vs the OVA translations.
Edit: The one being discussed in that thread is Ijirare: Fukushuu Saimin.

I think there was more to that exchange.

Our translators have been around for at least 10 years and were even scouted from the scanlation scene. I know they are not using a machine TL, especially since I work directly with them.

That is good to hear, but that doesn't disprove the claim in the post. How about the example mentioned in that post? Can anybody check that part of Ijirare chapter and compare it to the raws?

What do you mean? I made the thread as an inquiry to hear about actual experts if it is true or not. It would be nice to have an actual Japanese speaker here check the alleged issue instead of an anonymous board.

The claim to chose to believe comes without any actual proof. You had an expert right there, did they post any comparison?

Sounds like they're comparing a fan translation of the anime and our release of the manga. Those are two different forms of media, and I highly doubt the scripts are identical. In my experience this is either: them comparing apples and oranges, in this case anime vs manga; one side being more liberal with their translation, and they're confusing stylistic choices with accuracy; or they simply assume the fan version is more accurate due to their own bias.
That said, we all do mistakes. Our translators revisit a chapter several times during the localization process so they can catch and correct errors, but it's always possible something goes unnoticed by them or QC. We can't spend time replying to everyone arguing about us on various boards and social media, but if they have any concrete examples, they're more than welcome to use our contact form and submit a ticket through the proper channels.
