Start a discussion when you post a video, compare bands or generations of metal vs another, discuss visual effect or who you believe has the best stage production/presence. It's really not hard to start a debate, and as long as one person is willing to offer up and opposing view it can create something amazing.
So, just to start something of here, what would you say is the best genre inside Electronic music? If you have any interest in Electronic music, that is.
I would have to say that mine would be Dubstep. Even if it has a lot of negative comments pointed towards it, it can still be unique in every song. Sure it's all "wubwub" but every song is, most of the time, unique with own sounds and new ways of using them. It's not likely that you find a song that sounds exactly like another song.
Next to Dubstep would be Hardstyle, while
that genre can be mostly boiled down to "untz untz untz untz", there are still some artists that goes out of their way to make that one song of theirs, extra special. It's the artists that does those things that I have respect for and they are the ones that makes Hardstyle one of the genres I enjoy most.
This is an open question, people, feel free to quote and speak your mind about it.
The "wubwub" itself just sounds unpleasant to me, like a bunch of fart sounds. In my opinion, it just ruins what would have otherwise been an excellent song. And Hardstyle feels like it's for dancing, something that's about the exact opposite of what I'm doing when listening to electro, that is, sitting in my chair and relaxing. My favorite genre would have to be House because there's always this strand that transforms throughout the song but still never really changes. It's like listening to a rainbow for the price of one color.
Also how is Daft Punk #44, is it just because they're not as active or attention-whoring? This almost makes me cry, for real.
Can we include Nightcore as a genre?
And Armin Van Buuren remixing one of my favorite songs Human by The Killers, I never knew such beauty could exist.
@Medzy, I don't particularly enjoy hardstyle, so I'll just comment on the transitions. For the first transition, I think if you just went straight to the guitar part in "Letz Rock", it would've sounded smoother. To keep hold of that hardstyle sound, you could then maybe shorten that part. The second transition is really good. The third transition is also really good.
