Fame vs. Infamy

Many people want to be famous, i never understood why. i became fairly well known within a small community a while back, i did not like it at all. people i didn't know coming up to me, calling me by my street name and talking to me like they knew me. it really creeped me out. made me feel like my every move was being watched, like people were talking behind my back, and as my paranoya grew, that they were plotting against me.
the most i could accept is infamy. i don't mind if people have heard of me, or my actions, as long as they don't know exactly who i am.
so which would you want, fame or infamy?

You could accept being well known for negative actions of Being well known in general? wow,I'd most defintely choose fame. I mean it's got more perks.

Infamy, it's sorta like fame but more bad-ass. Infamy can get you a nice reputation of being bad-ass and every bad-ass will come to respect you.

How about someone like the artist Banksy, who you wouldn't call infamous - he's a prominent figure in art, has exhibitions and books and made a movie - but remains a complete unknown? Or am I pushing it just a bit? :P Fame on anything more than a niche level would suck, sure, but is there a balance to be had between the two?

Kind of Important
A ray of Tsunlight.
I could care less about fame. I want the money that is almost always attached to fame.

There were a lot of expectation when i played football, but it also led to a lot of perks, most rules didn't apply to me, people I didn't even know loved me, I didn't have to pay for a lot, and the girls; girls who would not bat an eyelash at me during the off season would come to me in droves during playoff runs. That was all until we lost in the province(state) finals, then it was back to my regular life.

Infamy. Your already famous and you don't have to kiss-up to parents and kids and shit. You don't have to keep up a nice guy act.

I chose fame over infamy for the soul reason that I don't think I could do enough evil to become infamious.

Fame, Arnold is both famous and Bad-ass at the same time. Same thing applies to all of those other gar people.

I would like fame once in a while but infamy sounds better if you want to live a normal life.
If only i could have both... o wait I can *grabs wig*
there now no one will know it was me, even though i have the same face, same figure, and same voice. no way people will find me out. im oober smart

I believe people just have the want of recognition, similar to the want of relationships and power, it just differs between individual.
I'd prefer to have fame over what I am good at in a positive manner, but excess of anything is always bad so I'd prefer it to be nothing higher then anything that disrupts my personal life style.
