Man, muscle only really dominates in straight lines (in most cases) whereas tuners/ jap crap is much better at holding out on the corners and straight lines. IE: A tuner would beat the shit out of a muscle car in any given race, that was not drag racing.
This being, if they had the same power or power to weight, or something like that.
Muscle cars are designed to be fast, not good at cornering, which is why most of them suck massive dick at it, and have horrible ride. tuners are meant designed for corners, and a smoother and more stable ride, cuz y'know japan is windy and shit.

Long story short, wanting to put shitloads of power into any one car for JUST street use, is stupid. if you're going to have the power on tap, at least take it to track meets or something, so you can actually get the urge to stomp it out of your system.

And yes, i do like my muscle cars, jap crap and euro trash.

Not super cars. Regular middle class cars like sports cars and shit. Not no super cars like Toyota supra and shit.

All skylines, all silvias. most pulsars, NSX, RSX, GTR, supra, celica, lancer, wrx, all of these stock can and sometimes do put out more than the equivelant priced muscle car.. and if not, they contain the parts to outrun them in corners..

Let's say you get a 50k inport and a 20k muscle car, and do up the muscle car with 30k, you'd have a pretty decent muscle car.. but no doubt, it would fail at handling.. unless you put in some decent shocks, anti-roll bars etc etc
whereas if you got a 50k muscle car and got a 20k import with 30k mods, you'd be swimming. can get shit-tons out of imports for that much. they tend to be cheaper, and have more tunability..

Buuut, it all depends.. i imagine if you lined up a proper sports import to a muscle car eg something like a nsx to a iunno gto or something.. actually, i wonder.. Change it to a viper vs nissan GTR.. both around the same price, both have similar power (viper has about 100ish more..) viper has 10 cylinders, GTR has 6.. viper weighs more (AFAIK) skyline has AWD (so in theory, it'd launch better, and have better steering) overall.. pretty similar..

Anyway, i've lost what i was saying, as i was researching and got distracted :|

And another thing, muscles aren't all natural, you know...

Big block Chevys? or Mustangs? I think so. Old school that is. I'm not a huge fan of modern muscle cars. I'm not a big fan of aftermarket either. Its best done OEM.

I'm by no means a ricer.. but all i have on my civic at the moment is a exhaust system.. if i had the money, i'd make it full on jdm spec, and add about 50hp, and a brand new gearbox (or just get mine rebuilt) for epic fun times. got some wheels lined up too :D just need the money ^^

Forgot to add: Since the civic weighs shit all, 50hp will bump it up to lie 110hp, which will be heaps for it i rekon. I'd love it :D
Only problem: getting ANY parts for it :|

I just got myself a 2010 Mazdaspeed 3 about 2 months ago =D It's pretty wicked.. But unfortunately i'm gonna have to sell it because i just got laid off =\

that's a shame >.> sorry to hear that. my best friend got a 2007 dark cherry mazdaspeed6. it's dope as fuck. his friend drives the speed3 and was the one who convinced him to get it. i'm glad he did because he was considering a dogde caliber SRT-4 >< i think he made the right choice lol

V8 engines. Also depending on the design too like HEMI engines. they have allot of torque. Some also come with stock turbo and super chargers.

Don't get me wrong, I love all types of cars. But all I'm gonna say is, why the fuck would you compare V8s to 4 cylinders/V6? Of course they are naturally powerful.

Nah i understand. the best reason i can give you is because ricer fags like to do this too. they think they're the best just because their car has a big fart cannon or a spoiler on the back. you have to meet ricer fag/muscle car guy in person about this.
