If you can pick your own seat, it's much louder behind the wings/engines. try to get a window seat, things look very different from way up in the air.

Thanks too all the advice, first time flying was a breeze! Got through the airports fine, transfers and everything went by smooth, and chewing gum worked for me ^^;; Thanks again for all the help (and laughs from some of these posts xD)

Take important stuff with you on the plane, like a toothbrush and toothpaste, and anything like the plushie you sleep with, deodorant, a book, clean underwear etc.
Because they lose your luggage sometimes. So carry it on you.

Sorry, I find it humorous that you think a toothbrush and toothpaste are in the "important items" category. XDD Like they are rare/expensive.
Buuuut, be careful with that as well.
If you did want to bring toothpaste it has to be the tiny travel-size one.

I've been stuck between planes with my breath smelling like garlic at 4 in the morning, without a toothbrush or even any gum. xD
Since then, I consider them the must-have-on-me items when I go flying.
