the hentai is almost always in the basement (at least in akihabara) and you find it in most places where you can buy non hentai manga.
When you buy that kind of series they put it in a paper bag and closes it with tape. So you just might get away with it. Say that it is a present for a friend so you can't open it.

As long as they isn't interested in manga you could pobably do it as fast as you separete for a little while when they leave you in the manga store to look at some other stores to pick you up later (not knowing that it's more than just 7 floors, there is a basement) Good luck ;)

ps: I luckily was there with two friends so I had no problem buying a couple of hentai mangas :)
