Food and Cooking Contest Extravaganza! (Canceled)

After years(exaggerating) of planning and discussing with Jacob! The Food and Cooking section will finally get a little recognition! A contest toti see who the best of the best is on Fakku as the ultimate chef!

The contest is 2 months long and will be judged by a secret panel of users (yet to be determined). The winner who is chosen will be given the title of "Fakku Chef!" as well.

The rules are you must of course incorporate the main theme into the dish as best as possible. You must also make your dish look presentable something you'd wanna sell for a high price. Show off your skills as well anything that you think will boost your chances of winning go for it. You must make sure that you have at least 3 pictures of prep and 1 picture of the final product (with sign showing username)

Wow - sounds like a great idea. Even though Im not exactly a good chef, I wanna try and experiment :)

I feel that it is a great improvement to have competitions like these in the various Sub-forums (there was a couple of them recently in the Writing section) and it really adds something to the already great community which reside in these forums. That and its great that the Food and Cooking section gets some recognition!

But one question is that this is 2 months long, will this contest take over from the "top chef fakku" monthly competition, or will both be running at the same time?

No it doesn't you can enter both and both will run at the same time.

Yeah, the idea is to have one user-voted contest that anyone can join, and a separate panel-judged one that everyone but the judges can join.

Another quick question - what criteria is been used to judge the entries (or is that secret)?

(If you want more participants, you could ask Jacob/Scanlator person, to briefly mention it (and provide a link) at the bottom of one of their manga updates... - it might bring in more of the lurkers - Just an idea though...)

The criteria is based off of skill and technique. If you use more fresh it'll be higher then if you use canned. If you can make your plate more presentable then you'll do better. If you have uniformed knife cuts you'll be more likely to win.

im definetely going to enter, but the hard decision is finding the right shroom to work with on this one...
