For Horror Monster/Alien movie, CGI or Traditional affects??

So which do you prefer? CGI or Traditional affects???
For me I go with Traditional in this one, cause i find it freaky and disturbing. Look at the
movie " THE THING " and " ALIENS " But i respect CGI though.

I like both, but I'm a stickler for Traditional Effects. Cause you know the thing is actually there. It just lends more scaryness.

I totally agree on the subject of practical effects. Rob Bottin's work on The Thing stands up to many contemporary horror movies. CGI looks good when it's done well, but if the budget isn't sufficient or the effects aren't top notch, it fails miserably. I think the best way to do effects is with animatronics, scaling (as with the minions in The Gate) and stop-motion, maybe improved in post with some subtle CG.

That still looks good as well.
