I check few of the races from time to time but I don't actively follow the tournament (If I may call it so).
Certainly on some moments it's lot better to watch then the soap operas and other junk that's on the TV, thank god for sports channel.

I've never understood why this was considered a sport...
OH LOOK THEY'RE MAKING A LEFT TURN! THEY'RE MAKING A LEFT TURN! I WONDER WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT!

Ah well, I often get this reaction from people. "They're just going round in circles!"
But seriously, c'mon, there HAS to be at least 1 more person on FAKKU who watches F1.

Awesome, I agree Alonso is really good, his precision is amazing.
But I'm supporting Sebastian Vettel, the kid's got skills. I admit, I don't think he can win the season this year, still too much of a rookie. But next year, just wait and see.

Anyway... I went to Indianapolis during Schumacher's last year on Ferrari. Was an awesome time, and if I remember correctly Schumacher got first and his teammate (can't remember his name D:, he was from Brazil I think) got 2nd place. Twas a great day for Ferrari :)

Ah, must've been Rubens Barrichello, the two of them were amazing teammates. Indianapolis will be back in 2012(or so they hope).
Too bad Schumi's driving like crap this season, I'm guessing he's past his prime already.

so there are no left turns?
Obviously I don't watch it because only Rednecks and Hillbillies watch racing. Same with WWE and Raw.

When I was younger, I did not understand why golf was considered a sport. As I grew up, I learned that many activities can be classified as sports, as long as a great deal of concentration is involved, not to mention other aspects, such as hand-eye coordination, mental calculations, etc.
The same can be said of racing, which includes F1.
I do watch it from time to time, if it is broadcast on television, but I doubt I can sit through the entire race, since the 40 to 60 laps seem rather long to me.

Rednecks watch NASCAR. NASCAR and F1 have similarities, but the level of skill and class of driver is on a completely different level.

Well, here the supporters work on a different way. Moto GP (this year is awesome for Spain) was always watched for many people (maybe, there is always a good spanish on the competition), and since some years, F1 became more important because of Alonso (with a great audience on tv). But the king of all sports is allways football (soccer).
What do you think about the next five races? Hamilton usually make big mistakes when he has the best chances to win. Alonso can still do it, Red Bull (Webber or Vettel) is my second bet to win the championship.

Singapore - street circuit, which means Red Bull have the advantage. But still need to watch Hamilton and Alonso, both of them have won there before. I hope Vettel wins here.
EDIT: Alonso wins in S'pore, Vettel 2nd, Webber 3rd.
Japan - has high speed corners, which also means Red Bull advantage. Vettel should win here, he won there last year.
EDIT: fuck yeah Red Bull 1-2 in Japan, Vettel 1st, Webber 2nd, Alonso 3rd. Webber still championship leader, Vettel and Alonso tied for 2nd.
Korea - brand new circuit, looks to be high-speed/low-downforce, so advantage to McLaren and Ferrari.
EDIT: Chaotic shitfest of a race for Red Bull. Webber hit the wall hard on the slippery track, and Vettel's engine blew up after he led from pole for 40+ laps, double DNF for RB. Alonso took 1st, Hamilton 2nd, Massa 3rd. Alonso takes 1st in championship, Webber 2nd, Hamilton 3rd.
Brazil - looks like a high speed circuit as well, so McLaren and Ferrari advantage. Championship has been decided here a lot, so we will probably know the champion by this race. Webber won last year, no reason why he should not repeat it.
Abu Dhabi - long straights with slow speed corners, no real advantage to any team here. Champion would probably already have been chosen, but if not, Vettel should win.
It's true what you say, Hamilton always makes stupid mistakes. Like in Monza, 1st lap he hit Massa and broke his right wheel steering, out of the race. Plus, he doesn't really drive with 'style', always locking up heavily, no real flair like how Button does it.
Alonso can do it, but I don't want him to. Webber should win, he's already put so many years of effort into F1, and for drving so well this year he really deserves it. Vettel, though, has made so many rookie mistakes. On pole for 1/3 of the season, but only 2 victories. Crashing into his teammate, and others. He still needs to learn, so maybe next year will be his year.

BUMP. Deal with it.
Brazil - Vettel 1st, Webber 2nd, Alonso 3rd. Red Bull win Constructors Chanpionship.
Abu Dhabi - Ferrari fucked up Alonso's pit stop, Webber was fucked up throughout, but Vettel led from pole to podium and got 1st, thus winning the 2010 World Driver's Championship, making him the youngest World Champion ever.
Fuck yeah, what a season. Can't wait for next year's, Schumi may finally get back in the game.

Your efforts to update this thread has not gone unnoticed.
That being said, I thought Alonso would have won the Drivers Championship. It goes to show that even experienced teams like Ferrari makes mistakes, which are undoubtedly costly. A single mistake can determine whether one wins or loses.
Personally, I am rooting for Massa. He has shown great determination to come back from his injury and deserves to be rewarded in some manner.

Anyone wanna discuss (next) season?
Teams:
Red Bull:
1. Vettel
2. Webber
McLaren:
3. Button
4. Hamilton
Ferrari:
5. Alonso
6. Massa
Mercedes:
7. Schumacher

Renault Lotus:
9. Räikkönen
10. Grosjean
Force India:
11. Di Resta
12. Hülkenberg
Sauber:
13. Kobayashi
14. Pérez
Toro Rosso:
15. Ricciardo
16. Verne
Williams:
17. Maldonado
18. TBC(Sutil?)
Caterham:
19. Kovalainen
20. TBC(Trulli likely to be dropped)
HRT:
21.De La Rosa
22. TBC(Maybe Alguersuari?)
Marussia:
23. Glock(Petrov lurking)
24. Pic
So....
In 2011, Vettel and his finger have owned F1. There was nothing Alonso, Button and Hamilton could have done(forget about Webber, he's done).
Webber was his side-kick, only to win at Brazil for some reason(I don't really trust Red Bull about their Gearbox issue). Why he wasn't dropped in favour for Alguersuari is a mystery to me(Maybe because Mark is a good dog to follow their orders, his paroles are only causing laughing fits now).
Alonso did his best to overachieve in a car that was made to underachieve, well done Ferrari, another failed year. As for Massa, another mystery besides Webber that he's yet to lose his seat(Maybe Ferrari doesn't want to pay a fee to Massa if they break the contract; One or another way, Massa doesn't look like recovering, there's even the rumour about Sutil replacing him).
Onto McLaren. Hamilton, godness. What was he up to? First, he leaves his dad and joins a new management agency(which usually has actors as clients). And well, this whole season was a bad soap opera Lewis! Left by your girlfriend after a fight, he runs over Maldonado, then has a 12-year old outburst("Because I'm Black") and while he wins races, he still finds time to run over Massa 3 times("Well done mate"), although he got owned by Kamukaze Kobayashi too. It can only get better Lewis.
Oh, and if it wasn't bad enough, a certain Mr Button has stolen the spotlight and drove superb, just think of Canada. A well-deserved 2nd in the championship.
Should I go on with this? I could write a wall of text about this and already next season, I might better stop now.
If you want to re-watch a bit of 2011, do it in the cartoon way. On YouTube, there's the funny series "Los MiniDrivers" and often describes it pretty well. I recommend watching those videos;)

As for 2012, the biggest shock was that STR has released both drivers. Not just Buemi, but also the talented Alguersuari. He should have been kept, but they favoured the two guys from Renault 3.5.
Sutil departure from Force India is no surprise to me. "HULK" is a good driver, and Sutil should have shown this performance at least 1 year before, but he kept crashing out in the rain, just when he was quick.
So, any opinions so far? Or do we need a new topic?
