Found something in garage(questions).

So I was looking through my friends garage and he was gonna throw out everything anyway so he said I can take whatever I wanted.I couldn't help but notice an old ziploc bag(the one for food) with a graphics(upon further inspection)card in it.So I wanna know,if it works but don't wanna deal with static and all that,so do you guys think that it's safe to test out?
-btw way I made a post about problem I had with my computer before,I manage to fix, thanks for the helpXD

It would be cool if we could like, see it, or something.
How do you think you're going to test it out? If it's older, it probably uses AGP where anything you have to test it in is PCIe.
As for static, it's actually more of a myth. The chances of static damage is astronomically low. You'd have to have deathly ill luck.

Likewise is it AGP or PCI? AGP has the contacts split into 3 even sections and is older, if not outdated, and doesn't work on most motherboards these days. If your card is broken by static then it won't affect your own computer, and if you're just scared of messing with the guts of your own computer then just make sure you keep things like hair, conductive metal, and obviously anything magnetic away from the board, and make sure you discharge yourself before and periodically during your time with the computer open by touching the exposed (non painted part) of your case panel.
Another note, you should be able to find the model of the card written on it somewhere, and if it was that old that he left it in the garage, odds are it's not worth your time installing into your pc anyways.

Yeah he just told me it was from an old Dell he had,so the card is pretty bad,but it's PCI.I actually just for the hell of it tested it on my old computer. It's pretty bad,but I guess I can sell it for 10$ to my friend, who's always looking for parts(he likes messing with Computers).

Lol you could probably do that, though out of curiosity were you able to find the model number of the card?
