Get a night job they said... You'll be able to sleep during the day they said... Anyone else get paid to burn the midnight oil? If you do, do you every really sleep? I sure as hell don't.

I had a Night shift at my old job, I showed up the first night and work thru it,
When I got back at day time I could not sleep, I had night shift again, And I feel asleep at work.
Coolest story of the day, rite?.

My first and last (for now) night shift job was awesome.
I worked in a factory that made small eletronic devices.
The pay was higher than the regular, and I got my weekdays off. It was the best.
Right until my shift's bitchy secondary supervisor got me kicked out because her useless friend needed a job and my place was the ideal for her...

Ya actually never had a day job. Always got a night job because there easier to get, since no one like that shift, and I a bit more money. Once you get use to it its not to hard to sleep during the day. Then again I 've fallen asleep standing up so maybe its just me.

Mostly though it's the girlfriend nagging me that we "never spend time together"... I CAN sleep, I'm basically not allowed to...

Would say ignore her ( once an a while ) but that never ends well. But it is a wonder how long a person can run on cig's and coffee.

I used to.
I'm more active at night anyways, so it didn't matter much to me at the time.
I don't sleep much either.

The closest i get is working second shift, I prefer it though, as i don't really get sleepy until around 4am or so. Regular 9-5 jobs are hell for me.

I used to work nights, Loved it at first. Got the extra dollar, got to get the rest of the day to myself.
Then I started getting tired more often, getting depressed, angry from lack of improper sleep.
Its fun at first, but I dont think I would ever do it permanently again.

I work night shifts every now and again. I find it easy to sleep after them. The shift is usually 11pm till 7am, so I sleep around 9am till 3-4pm~ Shits easy as. Then when I go back to normal shifts, I just stay up the remainder of the day after the night shift (it's hard to do) and then sleep like a log that night. ezpz.

A ray of Tsunlight.
I loved working third shift. Not only did I get paid for the same work compared to the other shifts, I prefer being awake at night.
I'm in the process of (hopefully) getting another third shift job. This whole being awake during the day is for squares.

I prefer night jobs because that's when i'm usually awake anyway, also i hate people. at night there are less of them to deal with. the only problem i ever had with sleep was when those yard work jerks ran their loud gear.
something else to try is sleeping right after work instead of waking up just before. when i have a job durring 'normal' hours, i usually get up several hours before i have to be there.

I work nights, if you can't get to bed before the sun comes up, hang a dark sheet over the windows to blackout all the light, have a couple of stiff drinks and go tho bed. I've been doin' it for years. Not a problem once you establish a pattern that works for you.
