What affects how you hear sounds to a much larger degree is your speakers.

Apparently OP's speakers were used by his friend, could be different music too.

Well he said it was the same song and same sound system so the only difference is the two laptops which pretty much tells me it's the onboard sound card causing the difference.

Driver's won't make any difference.
Buy an external soundcard if you have a laptop, internal for a PC.

So do you think that it is the Sound Card that is the difference not the program the sound is running off of?
also i am directly connecting the computer up to my home theater system 2 Mtx MPP520 Speakers and Sony Receiver so i think the sound quality is not the speakers but either the sound card or program any more ideas or were i can find a good external sound card for my laptop?

Does you AMP support digital input? If yes you might try sending the sound via SPDIF.

I think he misunderstood his friend when he was talking about drivers.
There is a piece of technology that is called a vacuum tube sound driver which are pretty expensive but hold prestige and pristine quality.
The technology is an amp that increases the sound stage
Here are some STAX drivers

Now these are strictly used for electrostatic headphones but there are others out there used as a pre-Amp for sounds systems.
They are also known as drivers and that's where the confusion might have been where he thought they were drivers software for the computer rather than physical drivers.
