Guitar players out there! :D

I'm new to the guitar, but I got basic chords down already. I can play a few beginner songs, which my friends suggested. but the real reason I took up the guitar is because I want to play anime songs on it, and if possible (though highly unlikely), sing it. I am currently studying(?) this one, it's "my love is a stapler" from k-on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-IDiF-4pWo&feature=related

I can play it up to the pre-chorus, but I'm having trouble on switching chords on time, and some barre chords. I'm starting to think that this is too advanced for my level. So if you know some songs, preferrably j-rock, that you think I can manage, please tell me. many thanks. :D

Barre chords are gonna take you a while, this may sound cliche but it's true PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE. Play the song over and over until you get sick of it, that's really how you'll get good. As for songs, The Pillows have a lot of good songs that are pretty easy, at least I think so, Little Busters. If you can't already learn to read tabs, also ultimate-guitar.com is your friend, look up songs and just start jamming. That should be good for now, now go my son/daughter/somethinginbetween, go and rock.

You can play freaking meagdeth on acoustic if you really want to.
FLCL is a freaking awesome anime with some great music that you should definitely watch.
A manfu is a waifu... but it's a guy instead.
