Guys can cook better than women

Less people--both men and women--in general are learning how to cook and instead rely in take-out, pre-made dinners, etc. It's sad, but lots of people are too busy or lazy to cook nowadays.

I admit I'm known for my lack of cooking skills.
But if it has directions on a box, I can meet them pretty decently. As for simply putting a meal together from scratch...not so much.

Cooking is really a developed skill. yeah you could read off instructions and do good job.
my parents teach me nonchalantly as if i am just throwing cut up ingredients. i would prefer detailed instructions but I began to cook EDIBLE foods the way they taught me. I am sure home cooking will still live on one way or another.

My cooking is limited to pasta dishes and classic meat and 3 veg, but thats since we live on here in NZ, meat and 3 veg 5 times a week, I don't need to learn much.
I can bake a decent sponge cake, as well as chocolate chip bikkies and pavlova though 8D
But everything else..I fail. Even sandwiches...

I think it depends really what you think.
I'm not sure on this, men tend to be more professional chefs while many women cook everyday for their families. But just because one man is better than a woman at cooking doesn't mean all mean are better at cooking.

[font=Verdana][color=green]A rather dangerous title, I must say.
However, the main problem is that we've become lazier and also it's become easier.

most of the top chefs are guys, so i have to admit that guys cook better. It's not necessarily a lack of talent or skill. Most of the top chefs are men because in our society, women are expected to take care of the family and whatever shit, and being a chef is incredibly incompatible with being the primary caregiver for children. Chefs work long hours every day of the week or almost every day, so if a chef has to take care of the family as well (which is usually the case for women), either the job or the family will suffer. OTOH, men aren't usually expected to care for the family--they're expected to go work long hours and bring home the bacon.

imo cooking is like a tradition in old era. mostly women in that era tends to become housewives so cooking is a must. but now as modernization wipes out the old tradition..

I wouldn't just say its cooking that people aren't learning these days.
General skills that should be known are not being taught as much to children these days. (changing your tires, using a washing machine, ironing clothes etc)
I personally think everyone should know how to cook these following dishes:
-A roast
-Pasta (Ravioli or Spaghetti Bolognaise are both extremely easy dishes)
-A standard dinner meal (Mixed Vegetables, Mash Potato, a couple of Sausages)
-One signature dish of your choice. Whether it be your own styling of a wrap, your own type of burger or a pasta bake for example.

True that; I mean, I know how to change oil, change tires, cook, and fix some basic problems around the house (plumbing, electrical problems, etc.), but many of my peers have no freaking idea. It might be because we can just pay people to do this now, instead of having to do it ourselves.

I'd add rice to that. It's so simple--especially if you use a rice cooker!--and cheap.

I can cook fairly better than my master. it all depends on your dexterity in terms of preparing materials/ingredients

Again, I believe this topic has been created out of good fun. Unfortunately, I received reports that some users are offended by the nature of its discussion.I would urge all users not to make fun of your fellow Fakku members, regardless of whether consent was obtained or not. In addition, given that Tegumi is a female (based on what I have read so far), this potentially counts as sexual harassment.
As such, I will be locking this thread. Sorry for the inconvenience caused, although I not very sure if I should apologize in this case.

I can cook pretty well, and I think it all depends on one's creativity and interest into the matter. But, God, do I wish my future wife can cook way better than me, than I don't have to spend all those expensive money eating out.
