Yah, it was most excellent. Not extremely deep or anything, but I wasn't expecting that. Just badass, and pretty damn funny.

Saw it today.
Personally, I thought it was great...for the first half. I mean, it was funny and all, especially in the first half of the movie, but the writing really was pathetically weak in the second half.
SPOILERS
I facepalmed through nearly the entire second half's "story". It's not enough that they're an ancient race (which I kinda accepted), they just HAD to be married at one time too! Personally, my idea of her being the one who injured him in the past during a fight and made him lose his memory was still better than this. All the second half needed was some bad spoken grammar, and it would have been on par with DOOM: Repercussions of Evil. Yes, I actually would compare it to that. Actually, it might be WORSE. At least with DOOM: RoE, it was so bad that it's almost obviously intentional.

I really enjoyed the movie, it was exactly what I expected - nothing more, nothing less.
The second half of the story, I was a tad bit ticked off that they put that in there ~ but it didn't stop me from enjoying the rest of the movie.
Overall, it was decent and worth seeing in my opinion.

They don't go out often. That's why they don't know the difference of fun & exciting and Newspapers

I liked it as well. Although, I could of done without the auto-fall in love with girl part. But the premise was pretty cool...
I liked Wall E better....

I liked the first 1/2, and the theme of it. I didn't like how they basically switched themes 1/2 way through the movie, and I wish they would have stuck with the original idea of loser hero redeeming himself thing. They tried to do too much, and didn't give enough to either theme to really give them any impact at all.

I agree, most of the crap they came up with for the 2nd 1/2 of the movie was very lame and cliche to me, and unneccessary. I wish they would have just continued the story they had going for the first 1/2 of the movie, I would have enjoyed it far more then.

I haven't seen it, but I heard the original script was far superior so I started reading it while I was sitting at work.

All I've got to say is that I enjoyed it mostly because it was like Superman but made any goddamn sense. A real reason for having superpowers (at least as far as super heroes go) and a weakness that serves the plot and has meaning instead of being arbitrary and batshit crazy.
