You know the last time I added a new song to my music library? A few months ago. My iPod contains 194 tracks, and that's just what I was able to scrape together after many years (my computer folder has more than that, but I can't tolerate them now). I'm not looking for a specific genre, because I like most types of music. Maybe fakku can help me out? (and yes, this is based on azuran's thread)
Speaking of that thread, I've listened to the recommendations, yet almost all of them did not tickle my fancy.
Let's see, where to start? Maybe if I post my top 20 most listened to tracks, that'll give someone a good idea of the sounds that I like (if you've never heard of them, try youtube):
1 I'm on a boat - The Lonely Island
2 Sworn Through Swords - Shootie HG of Hostile Groove (DMC 4 track)
3 Hollow Life - KoRn
4 Blythe - DJMAX Clazziquai
5 Shall Never Surrender - Jason "ShyBoy" Arnold (DMC 4 Theme)
6 Cerberus Battle - Shawn McPherson (DMC 3 track)
7 Grave Consequence - Tsukasa
8 Hurt You So - Jonny L
9 Beowulf Battle - Shawn McPherson (DMC 3 track)
10 The Last Day On Earth - Marilyn Manson
11 Chain (Rockin' 8 Glider Mix) - Skankfunk
12 Straight to video - Mindless Self Indulgence
13 Zero - AAA
14 Get It Shawty - Lloyd
15 Shut Up And Explode - Boom Boom Satellites (No kidding)
16 I Stand Alone - Godsmack
17 Finished Symphony - Hybrid
18 Stupid MF - Mindless Self Indulgence
19 Vergil Battle 2 - Tetsuya Shibata (DMC 3 Track)
20 Blow Me Away - Breaking Benjamin
A lot of my good shit comes from DMC. Meh, I like "killing music" like that.
I eagerly await your recommendations. It could even be your favorite tracks, but no: Hardcore metal shit where the guy screams, country, or classic.

If you like Seventh Wonder I can warmly recommend you 'Scenes from a Memory' and 'Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence' by Dream Theater. Their most recent album is also pretty good.

Just remembered, that pagan shit (Equilibrium - Mana) was pretty epic, like it's one big boss battle. Thanks for that.
I'll be sure to check out all your suggestions. "Japonese" music is cool too.

Oh ya, Cynic's 'Traced In Air' is also some nice trippy stuff. It contains a minimal amount of grunts through the entire album, some songs are entirely clean.

So far I'm keeping:
Butterfly - Back-on
D-tecnolife - UVERworld
Dream Theater - A Nightmare To Remember (Start has a nice dark feel to it. I'll have to edit this one down a little)
Dream Theater - Octavarium (Has an epic start, but it's too long. I'll edit this as best as I can to not lose the flow.)
Cynic - The Space For This (Wow, takes over a minute to do something. More editing for me to do.)
My library + 5. :)
Hopefully, more will contribute.

So mainly I'm digging through my iTunes library of 3,332 songs ( currently, I recently moved my library, to my new computer and lost about 5% of what I had. and I have add since then before I realized I was missing music. )
Anyway my basis for the choices is Music I think you might like, and Bands that need to be heard by more people.
My first band falls in the latter category.
Eyes Set To Kill.
They are a local band that is actually starting to tour. So they are growing in popularity ,but I don't think a Lot of people have heard them. Outside of there tour and my home state of Arizona. I hope you don't mind screamo. they are not full scream since they have 2 main singer's. A Female who does not scream, And the other a Male who does and does not scream.
Anyway here are 2 videos by them, my 2 favorite songs. the first is called "Reach" and the second is "Heights".
Oh a neat fact is that the Female singer and the bassest are sisters.
So for a Japanese artist I recommen Nami Tamaki. I don't know much about her she has an Incredible voice in my opinon, and if A friend of mine was asain I would swear on a stack of bibles she was Nami, but she is not asain. And Nami's Music is techno style I believe I could be wrong.
So for songs I would say Believe, Realize, and Shining Star, respective videos in spoiler.
Interesting tidbit, Realize is a theme song from Gundam Seed.
Saosin
Don't really have much to say. They are a good band, have not really listened to there new album. Just like their music. Anyway they have disabled embeeding of there music videos so stuck with AMV's. The songs are from there First album, not their EP. Anyway first one is "Voices", second is "Your Not Alone". Both Amv use Bleach, clips from season 1 for the first, and clips from the movie Memories of Nobody for the second.
Anyway that is all I'm going to do for now, may add more later if you like these.

I just judged by I'm on a Boat. Not that this is the same at all, but it's good and somehow I connect them in my mind. Probably because both of them always turns up when it's party =D

Yes, great voice, and fucking hot too. Too bad those songs focus on her voice, as my main focus of interest is the music.

These also put an emphasis on the voice, and the music is simple background noise.
Thank you for trying.

If only his voice wasn't in it, it would be a decent techno track.

Whatever, i'll come back with some softer crap for you later.I split rap into 2 categories: "Aight" and "Repulsive"
How repulsive it is is determined by how much what they say pisses me off.
Currently, my favorite Rap track is "Get Low" by Lil' Jon. The music counts for a lot.

Also, no need to mention slipknot; I already checked them out.

Okay so I have one more band then that you might or might not like.
Apocalyptica.
They are a band of 5 members 1 drumer and 4 Cellos. They have lyrics in a few of there songs but a larger portion of there music they don't. The way they got started was by doing a covers of Metallica. In those songs they normally have 1 of the cellos do the part of voice. By this I mean he plays the cello in a way as though it is singing the lyrics in the song. I have all there music and with just using 1 of there albums came up with these songs.
Spoiler:
anyway hope this helps if it doesn't, than it doesn't.

Hmm, a recently acquired album by Dark Moor, Autumnal. Many grand choral and orchestral arrangements so if bombastic music is not your thing, ignore this.
The following song is the first track on the album and a metalized version of Tchaikovsky's 'Swan Lake', which I'm sure you'll recognize as soon as you hear it.
It's an acquired taste though, and even though you already mention in the OP that you don't like classic, it's still worth the try. As for myself, I really dig classical music and metal so this is a very pleasant combination.

Thank a lot for the Pendulum stuff, bro.
Oh man, this thread was a great idea. My collection is finally increasing.
In addition to what I mentioned before, here's what I've added to my library based on further suggestions:
Infected Mushroom - "Shakawkaw" & "Forgive Me"
Apocalyptica - Quutamo
Pendulum - "Spiral" & "Plasticworld (ft. Fats & TC)" & "Another Planet" & "Slam"
