Help the Hardware Illiterate solve a CPU problem!

Hi Fakku friends, I've recently gotten a brand-spankin-new HP Laptop over the holidays, and it shines it it's obvious superiority to the pieced together laptop I had before. Well, Except that it seems considerably slower than my last one. Soooo I've done a little research, and it seems the AMD E-300 APU with Radeon(tm)HD graphics, 1300 Mhz, 2 core(s), 2 logical processors CPU it came installed with is SUB-PAR, and it has 2GBs of RAM. My old laptop has a Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU M-540 @ 2.53GHz and 4GBs of Ram. So I guess what I'm asking is, Do you think I could put the superior CPU and RAM into the oh-so-nice laptop?
The New Laptop is an HP-2000 Notebook PC running Windows Eight.

In short: No.
You can't upgrade this particular laptop's hardware the cpu is soldered onto the motherboard.

no, you can't change the cpus but you can probably exchange the RAM into the new one. but you need to check if they are the same. DDR2 and DDR3 have different slots. If that doesn't work you can buy more laptop RAM from newegg or similar site.
you can probably at max use 4gb or 8gb if the cpu is very new version.
personally idk y u bought a new laptop, your old one seems totally functional still and far superior, i5 has 4 physical cores and 4 logical processors. and well the RAM is higher.
I recommend researching the specs of the computer before buying next time.

Will upgrading the RAM help move along the computers speed? If so, is installing the RAM cards something I could do, or should I get a professional to install it?
And I got the Laptop as a gift, If I knew someone was getting me a computer, I would have given them some (Extremely Vague)specs.

RAM stands for Random Access Memory. Basically the more RAM you have the more stuff you can do at once on your computer.

First, make sure your laptop is completely powered off, then flip it over. There are a few covers with screws, its dependent on the layout so you might as well open them all.
RAM is probably round the thickness of a credit card about the length of your hand. You will have to take one out and look at it. Along the side it will have something written with "DDR _-____" The first DDR has a number that indicates series, after the - is the speed.
If you want to buy more RAM, the series has to be the same, the speed is preferably the same. I'm using desktop RAM for an example so im not completely sure if they have the series written on the side.

To make it simple for you, your old laptop was better. The E-300 is a low end APU, not much you can do about it. I'm guessing you don't have your old laptop anymore?

If I can't cannibalize any parts from it i'm sure I'll sell it. The only problem is that my old laptop was built by a friend of mine, So I have no idea if all the parts are interchangeable with the new ones.

If you mean 'built' as in your friend customised it when he ordered it that's a different story. Unless it's one of those expensive custom laptops you won't be able to change any hardware.
Don't think of laptops as normal modular PCs they're more appliances that once obsolete and non functional need to be replaced.

for ram
same model ram [the model, speed, manufactor, some other things that are inportant{dont ask me i dont know any other than this}]: okey.
other type and size, what i called above (i dont think it would work).
it is posseble in a way (how, i dont know this).
look op what kind of ram it is
ddr1/2/3
1333,1600,ect (other numbers)
put an equal ram in it
for beter preformance (cpu based)
1
try an better cooler (over clocking [if it gets to cold it is dangerous{min tem is on manufactors site}]).
the cooler can alwas be changed but dont buy a to large one or it wont fit in the casing.
also look or the cpu cooler has 3 or 4 pins power connector.
2
better cooling paste (good quality can save up to 6 degree celsius)
3
other cpu maby quad core (i dont think it could work, but it could also work). f you do this look first what kind of processor you have because of the soccet it is in, like am2 (from amd) cant work on am3 (newer version of am2 but other pins in the processor [in a different order]).
-------------------------------------
for a new pc (maby in 5-10 years when this one is out dated), pc's last up to 10 years befor they arnt supported by updates anymore.
(soon(2-4 years)windowns xp doesnt get any updates anymore).
build an custom one.
inportant: for a good one try a pc builder online you can see if the system works with what you want. since if you bui an am3 motherboard and an am2 processor this wont work. so for these reasons it is better to use an pc builder.
it is also good if you want more memory or an videocard, more hdd's/ssd's.
blue-ray (i suggest a blueray burner [price is equal to a normal player but you can burn blurays with the burner an not with the normal one.])

I hope you realise OP has a laptop so the majority of your CPU advice is kinda moot...
