So my work-place just rang me to ask whether I could come in today to do some hours, I didn't actually pick up the phone and have no intention of ringing them back or going in today.
Why? A number of reasons.. I haven't slept particularly well and...umm.. basically I'm just too lazy today!
Luckily this isn't a topic to discuss my obviously thrilling life, but here to discuss how you are with your job.
Are you enthusiastic about it and willing to put your full effort in whenever needed? Or are you someone like me who is very half-assed bout their job and can rarely be bothered to go.
Now i'm just hoping I don't get rung up again tomorrow, now i'm off to disconnect my home phone. Discuss

And will you be maintaining the status of "employed" in the near future?I'm honestly hoping that I won't.

Makes me wish I had a job, seeing as I'm actually out every other day trying to get one, while you have one and dont even want it.
Makes me feel a whoooole lot better.
I'm sure once Ive had a job for a while, I'd probably slack off a bit, but at the moment, I'm giving all I have just to try and get an interview.

Jobs like people who come to work when called in, rather if you give away your shifts also it looks bad.
One day your work is going to need someone to come in and they will be like "Hey dont call this guy, he never comes in when we ask."
And that shows you arnt a very good employee. If you also start getting less shifts in the near future that is also why.
Workplaces of all kind do not like slackers.
Even though I only got paid $8.00 at my last job I always took shifts whenever I could. It looks good to your manager and it will pay off when you need a reference.

Well if you can live without being employed then by all means do what you want, but a lot of people arent as fortunate and cant afford to skip work just because they dont want to go.

Now i'm starting to feel like an ass for not going in ;-; Just to clarify this is just till I start college, tog et some job experience and some money for the time being. (This is my first job.)
But i'm surprised, I thought there'd be more people who have had their lazy moments with work.

The odd hours I work; I will still show up. I have to pay some bills. Also, I need to replace my 1998 Taurus with a 2011 Subaru Forester.

When I had my job I was devoted as hell to it. It was only at a restaurant but damn I did so much for it. I was even told by the customers and some fellow employees that I should be the manager. But now I have no job... and I am happier, hahaha...

I can't actually imagine a job where I would be willing to give a 100% for any reason, at least not a feasible job. Still, I operate on a constant 80%, which seems to be necessary to pick up the slack. Hell, I have to work Friday this week, my day off, because one of our prep-cooks went to jail. Man I wish that was the first that had happened...

I envy the fact you even have a job... and ya I would give it my all if I was in your shoes. I could use some money real badly, so I be willing to kiss my boss's ass if I had to.

Unless you get a job that doesn't drain little bits of your soul every day, you will be singing a different tune soon enough. That said, get a job, hippy.

I am the slowest worker on the east coast. In all the jobs I ever had, I earned a nick name for being slow.
My last job, my nick name was Turtle.

I'm trying, but at same time I can't at the moment, maybe a part-time at the very least. I'm busy learning something for a possible career in the future. A future in healthcare work.
