House (possible spoilers)

Man, a hell of a lot of stuff has happened since the last post in this thread.
At the start of the latest season, House was in a mental institution, which he got out of after two very good episodes. Then, he started to sink back into his old life, albeit without Vicodin and staying in Wilson's place. He's still an asshole, but he's less miserable than he used to be. I like it. His crazy antics are still there, but we don't have to deal with episodes ending with him feeling a ton of self-pity. Plus, there's more Wilson, a character I really like.

House as a character used to seem so bad ass I feel like they've taken that away and that makes me sad.

I used to watch House a lot, but it got repetitive and I just didn't find the time to watch it.

I've never cared about the medical stuff in the show or even seen it as important. After all, how many viewers understand a single medical thing? It's just a backdrop that allows the characters to act in a certain way.
I think the latest episode really reflects this, as it didn't deal with a medical problem at all. (Except for the vague bits strewn about the episode, that mostly showed that House was working on a case.) The episode was all about Cuddy and her life, her job, and it was one of the best episodes I've ever seen. I would love to see more episodes like it.
Tossing out a question for other fans - are you mad that House and Cuddy didn't get together? I was a bit upset at first, but I think it works better for the show. It's more interesting to see House and Wilson being buddy-buddy and Cuddy just having a boyfriend. (We don't have to see House and Cuddy argue about relationship shit and work shit at the same time.)

I did really get into this show, but then i think around season 5 it got too depressing for my liking, fair enough shows can't always be full of happiness but I find it difficult to watch something when it's too sad :/
I may start watching it again though, I've heard season 6 is good.

House is like a child and he needs discipline. She is the only one with the authority and position to exercise this.

Yeah, Cuddy's the bad guy. She constantly bothers House and makes it hard for him to do his job. She spreads lies about him and tries to sabotage just about every aspect of his life. Wait, I have that backwards. That's how House treats Cuddy. Silly me.
Sure, she started dating the PI House hired in the past, but that was a good decision for her. Cuddy couldn't take the huge chance that would be hooking up with House. While he has gotten better, odds were, he wasn't going to change at all. There was a 90% chance he was going to keep being the asshole he's been for the past couple of decades. No one can blame Cuddy for not taking a chance on House when she has baby to take care of.
