How dense can he be?
-1
And yet another case where I became a middleman and a diary....
the stick is this:
a girl from my block likes one of my guys in the inner circle of friends....
her friends decided to ask me fpr help (actually it was threatening to purge my HD worth of 30GB of H, games and vids if i didnt) her...
so we set her up with my guy...
during her attempts, she used me as an outlet for her emotions...
half a month passed and yet he still didnt get her signals.....
then last week she went all out and screamed in the classroom the three words at him...
much to our surprise (and source of laughter) he said "thank you. I love you too" but his tone wasnt serious... instead it was like a friend talking happily to another friend...
he took it as a compliment (WHAT?!).... the guy hasnt had any girlfriend since...
even now she's still trying and now i stepped into the sidelines... she's gonna have to do this on her own...
A question for the girls:
do you sometimes find us oblivious/dense to what you are trying to convey?
A question for the guys:
are we really keen enough to notice?

Obviously, he knows what is what. It's just like a defense mechanism to assume it's a joke to be safe of course.

We are dense. I admit it. I am dense. I hope someday Im as aware of my surroundings as some of my female friends. They always gossip about relationships and stuff. It always ends with me saying "they were together?", "the are going out?", or "they like each other". It also ends with them giving me a funny look like I am the dumbest person in the world.

I usually don't really care...but if I know I'll teasethehelloutofthemcongratulate them....
Maybe he's being calm because he is surprised and talk calmly to suppress it...cause yeah...If someone actually shout I love you outloud in the class it sounds like she's teasing him...

I am INCREDIBLY dense when it comes to women.
I've actually upset women because I was completely oblivious to their signals (pathetic, aint it?)

I've been in a similiar situation to the guy here a few years ago. A girl had been flirting with me for a few weeks, I noticed her attention but just ignored her. One day she kissed me on the cheek in front of the whole class and said she liked me. It seemed to me she was trying to put pressure on me to take action or something. I just replied "Okay, yeah." And acted as if nothing ever happened.
It's not that I didn't notice her actions, but rather I wasn't interested in her at all and wasn't really looking for a relationship at that time.
Maybe he isn't interested in the person as well, isn't looking for a relationship or has his eyes on someone else?

The closest thing I have to that was that a classmate laid her head on my shoulder. But I was in the same boat you were, not interested in a relationship.

man you had it easy......

Dense? Or pretending to be dense I wonder?I am just like the guy you mentioned in the topic. I mean, really.
Similar thing happened twice before, though one is in the internets lol.
I said thanks to the girl who said she loves me but didn't really go into a relationship. I mean I like her but, lol, dun want relationship yet.
I do feel bad not treating it seriously.
impov, i think he's one dense guy.... THREE girls already passed him before... the girl was the 3rd.... just so you know, the guy is NOT homo or gay.... he even wants to get a girlfriend.... my entire block was stunned at his reaction.... he even asked me if she was serious or not....
and that made me realize.... to the women... are we sometimes dense that we cant even understand their intentions?

Bullshit, this works both ways. How dense can he be oh so you mean because you talk to me on a regular basis and your of the oppisite sex you clearly must be attracted the fact is both genders are fuck off awful at this shit thus putting us in the same boat.

Wow, for him to be actively looking for a girlfriend and not notice the intentions of a girl interested in him, he has be pretty dense in the whole relationship thing.
@willy191: Lucky at that moment I guess, but then I got shit from everyone else for the rest of the year.

I had these annoying girls who kept on asking if I could marry them ever since I was SGA President. They were fugly too.

No, not dense. Hints are obvious after a short while. Sure first time I may not notice but after a while yes.

I'm guessing he's a student because you said classroom.
1. Why on earth did she say the three words seriously in the classroom and not when she was alone with the guy.
2. I don't think any young students would say the three words seriously when they are not currently in a relationship with them.
Answer to the question:
We cannot have an accurate answer, for everybody has their own characteristics. I, however, think I am keen enough to notice. :D

Uh yeah duh. I've met plenty of guys who I thought were really dense and didn't get a thing I was saying or catch any hints. But no worries though, I just gotta keep on trying.

Cause if they're completely masked under something else, no man will ever notice that.
ex. girl likes guy
girl gets guy to go see twilight with her
guy realizes that since twilight is a romance, and that edward and bella kiss, so this must be what she wants
Yeah, a guy will never get something as vague as that.
