How do guys feel about free downloading vs paying

Pretty much the same, I usually download to check things out, and buy stuff if I think it's worth it.

I used to be an all-out pirate, but then I realized how retarded it is to download most things, just buy them, support the economy, support the business and prices will go down. It's a slow process, but I'd say it's worth it.

Its not retarded when you don't have money for most things.

It is retarded. If you don't have money, then make the money. That's essentially the same as saying stealing is alright if you don't have the money to buy stuff.

Now that might be a question about morals and situation and shit. But there is nothing to be downloaded that would weight morally heavy enough to justify downloading it.

Except I don't need to justify it, because I don't feel bad at all. It might be easy for you to say that, but the fact of the matter is, even when more than willing, money is not made that easily.

You should feel bad though, I mean, wouldn't it suck if people used your product without paying for it? True, the rates that publishers and such take when we're talking about music and films and shit are ridiculous, but that's a discussion for another time.

Money is made that easily. I know that getting a job might not always be the easiest thing, but it is far from impossible, and honestly, if you can't afford it, then stay absent until you can, it's not that hard.

If people did indeed do that, I'd probably (but not certainly) take it as a form of karma or something for having downloaded so many things for free. I mean, I care and really wish my favorite developers and etc do well financially, and if I could support them more directly, I really would. But for the nonce I can't afford it, and true to the 'me or them' mentality, I choose me 10 out of 10 times.

If I didn't download it for free I wouldn't of paid to go see or get it any way.

Any thing I do download that I would pay for I buy it eventually even though I downloaded it. I only started downloading stuff because of things that weren't available in the UK at all but now I do it to get to know what kind of things I want to buy if the government were to put a stop to it I would end up not buying a lot of stuff because I wouldn't know what to buy.

Fair enough, but the point he's trying to make is that you don't deserve stuff if you can't buy it.

If money isn't made that easily then you aren't trying hard enough :/. I'm not saying everybody can be millionaires, but spending £0.75 on a song from iTunes isn't going to bankrupt anybody.

This might be the worst fucking ramble of idiocy I've ever seen.

I rest my case.

I believe that free sharing of media such as music is great for the industry, say that you download a album by say Taylor Swift, if you go to some store outta curiosity u will most likelly not waste your hard earned money on a artist who might suck, usually that is why we turn to youtube and megaupload (rest in peace), if you really like the musician you will as a true fan or collector buy their stuff at some point, so I believe that free downloading is the best publicity a artist can hope for, lets be honest teens are broke but what do we usually do when we do get the cash? We spend it on the sfuff we like, if ur a jobless teen it sets you up to buy all this stuff upon reaching adulthood and having da cash :3

I wouldnt be able to watch half the anime I like without torrents, and they are ridiculously expensive to buy, for instance if I wanted the Lucky Star Blu-ray box set, it would cost me 500 dollars.

Almost none of my music are available on itunes. Most of the games I pirate aren't worth paying for because I never get a good gaming experience.
