Hug Pillows (Dakimakuras) with Anime Characters Imprinted...

I own 3 of them and I have them for non-lewd purposes.
Two are for display, one of them is on my bed. I also intend on getting more.

I own the Yomako Sensei/Star tits Yoko hug pillow, and it's adorable. She slept in my bed with me until I actually got a real girlfriend, then she had to go.

I don't own one myself and I don't think I ever will but one of my close friends has a pillow. I think it was Chi from Chobits but I haven't seen it in a while.

so i walked into a comic book shop and this one guy was sitting next to his yuko (off of ttlg) dakimakura. surprisingly most of the people there didn't diss him or anything (this is probably largely due to the local though). i was wondering, do any of you guys own a dakimakura, or do y'all say that owning one is just sad? would you take it out in public (honestly, i don't see the point) i'm not ashamed to admit that i own 5 dakimakura in total, and am thinking about get 1 (maybe 2) more.

no actually, though I'd like to own two or three. most of the good ones though are really expensive though

eh, the cover usually runs about $30. now the actual 150x50cm (usual size) inner pillow can run you an additional $50 (apparently because of the shipping) if you don't get it from the right place...

nope it would be worse than any other form of humiliation where i live... i mean walking with it in public since keeping one home is fine and i'd actually not mind having a proper pillow...

I dont think of them any differently than of naked figurines. They can look pretty, but they're not really my thing.

The only dakimakura I'd buy is The Yaranaika one :o And actually, if I had enough money, I'd buy it right away. Would be awesome to keep it sitting on our sofa even when people come over.

...well okay i see how most of them are like that (like the ones that are fully naked on both sides, and the ones just wearing a lingerie or bikini or something, but the ones i like/have aren't too suggestive at all, at least on the side i pay attention to. (except for that suika ibuki one [very not worksafe...on either side] not sure why i bought it, just a waste of $$$ as it just sits in my closet].

I have a bed sheet, so I win?

Well, as you said most of the dakimakuras are more or less suggestive, because in most of the cases it has a picture of a girl waiting for you (the owner) on a bed.
But, I didnt say it clearly enough, but what I meant that on the level of how sad owning one is, its on the same level as naked figurines. In other words I dont think any differently of people just because they have some figurines/dakimakuras, but I wouldnt buy either, because they're just not my thing.
If that makes any sense.

Forever alone or not, these always seemed excessive to me. A regular pillow and a little imagination gets the job done.
