[Locked] Hydro Thunder (PC) issues, post-CCleaner

So, the bug bit me and I found a reputable torrent for the PC port. Unzipped the folder, and guess what? Worked perfect! Better graphics than I remember, and soon I had all the bonus tracks and boats unlocked.
This morning, I decide it's about time to run CCleaner. I wait until AVG and Malwarebytes are done running and run CCleaner. Now, because CCleaner has erased my progress in "N" before, I assumed I'd have to start over again in HT. Well, not what happens. Now, I open it and it's just this hyper-grainy, fractured mirage of purple and pink that makes it impossible to enjoy the game. Hit the windows key though, and as the small window it looks just fine, albeit really really small. I treid re-unpacking the zip file and it still looking ape-shit. I tried copying the game back off my brother's flash drive (as he wanted to play it too) and it still won't cooperate. Putting it on the computer we have in the living room yields a perfectly playable game.
So my question is, what the fuck did I do when I ran CCleaner that mucked-up HT, and how can I fix it?

One thing most people don't realize about CCleaner is that it's a little too "thorough" sometimes. Have you tried any other games? Do your videos still render correctly? I'm assuming CCleaner screwed up something with your graphics driver, so reinstalling it may fix the problem.
You shouldn't need to run programs like CCleaner if you take care of your computer properly. An occasional CheckDisk and a Defrag are more than enough to keep your computer running in good shape. I recommend System Mechanic if you're really into having your computer running mint. Anti-virus/spyware built in and does all of the things CCleaner does and more. In a better way too.

No, the few vid files I have on my computer still play just fine and N, Yin-Yang, and RCT# all run just fine. Never had issues with CCleaner before.

I just tried unzipping and playing HT again...
What the fuck? Now it works? I leave the computer alone for a couple hours and now all of a sudden it works? What the fuck gives?
