I found a dog
1
Well, I was driving down the street, and to my surprise I found this little cutie. She doesn't have any tags, nor does she have a chip in her. I'm about to type up some flyers, but my mother really doesn't want me to. She want's to keep her.
Anyway, what would you do in this situation?
Also, dote on this sweet little thing.

Its obvious that she was lost from her owner. I would do what you were about to do and search for her owner.

I forgot what the law is on this.
But i think you have to look for an owner for two weeks, if no one claims her then you can keep her.
I suggest doing so, losing a dog is a major heart break for a family.
Just going off from how she looks from the picture, she seems healthy enough and has a bow, so more than likely she comes from a decent home.
Good luck!

I know I'd be fretting if this were my dog, so I'm going all out for this.

Yeah good that you want to do whatever you can to return the dog to its original owner. I remember when I lost my puppy.....
However my puppy died cause of a family member, not lost forever to the unknown. I believe that may be even harder to cope with.

If your mother wants a dog, go to a dog pound and adopt one. This dog obviously get lost, and i can't imagine how much could it hurt to loose a dog. So please, do some flyers

Don't be to discriptive with the flyers. don't put a picture either. keep it simple. when people do call, ask them to discribe the dog to make sure it's theirs. ask for a name to see if it responds, gender, color, markings, etc..
I've had some experience with this situations and people are scum. some will try to get a free dog and not care about the person who lost it.

That's actually really great advice. I wish that there were a tag on it, that would simplify things so much.

Looks like someone's been taking care of her, so I'd at least check your local Craigslist lost and found or something, put up posters or ask neighbors if they know whose dog it is.

She just ate some turkey like a champ.
It was so cute to see such a little dog chomp down on that food like she did.
Anyway, I've actually already done a CL ad, and I'm looking at the newspaper ad stuff right now. She's a cuddler, and I want to get her back as soon as possible.

You're doing the right thing by attempting to bring the dog back home. It's very admirable. And if the dog's original owners do not appear to claim it, then it seems you have a new addition to the family.

>< Don't give it people-food... try some basic dog kibbles if you can get a small amount.
Or treats, they're cheaper and in smaller amounts.

There that bastard went. The rest of my stew got cold when the main ingredient scattered out the open door.

If you were in the PI, you just found dinner.
I suggest putting up fliers(?) near where you found it, and probly a couple blocks in all directions from there.

Chicken, cottage cheese and eggs are great for dogs(in small amounts) which is what I gave.
