I want to be a barista.

I've been working at Starbucks for a while now, and I just love the calm atmosphere. I'd really love to open my own small coffee shop in Europe of East Asia. I'll probably sound a bit naive in saying this, but I think it would be the ideal life.

I love coffee and baking, but not enough to make it my life's work, though. But it's certainly something I'd love to do once in my life.

That would be nice. Nothing too extreme like what Starbucks has but simple stuff like basic blacks and espressos etc. Probably some pastries on the side.

The usual Starbucks customer seems to be nonchalant and sophisticated. A job working around people like that seems pretty sweet.

Go for it. A small cafe might spice things up a little in whatever neighborhood you locate.

I sometimes think about owning a small cafe, it seems like a peaceful life to live.
I say, if you're able to do it then go for it, no point wondering if you ain't gonna try.

Good luck and have fun. It's not unrealistic, and you already have your foot in the door with your job at Starbucks. I was worried that I'd have to be a jerk to you, but you already have the job that could be considered a starting point! It's just so sad, y'know? A lot of people talk to store managers, like at a business similar to Starbucks, and they're told to apply online, and that is just about the worst thing you could do, truth be told. That means that store isn't hiring and that application you're putting in online is being sent into a pool of other applications and you're gonna have a frustrating time hoping and waiting they get back to you.
