Latest Update: Thank you all for all your support, but I am unable to maintain this application any longer. It's been fun and the dream of iFakku motivated me to learn and develop iOS applications. I probably would not have picked iOS programming as a hobby if not for Fakku. I would like to thank all of you users who supported me throughout the development of this application and the Fakku team for their release of the API. Spoiler: Final Update: Spoiler:Hi everyone. After much consideration, I have decided to retire this application. There are several reasons why I am doing so but the two mains reasons are 1. The Fakku website is already optimized for mobile devices 2. It doesn't seem like there are any plans to update the API. I have spent countless hours developing Fakku I am very happy as to how it turned out after 3 versions. The latest source code will always be available online. I would like to thank everyone who enjoyed using the app as much as I enjoyed developing it. I would also like to thank all users who have given me feedback either through Fakku or email, your praises and criticism really were the motivation to deliver and improve newer versions of this application. After many months of intermittent development, I made the decision to finally update iFakku and did so from scratch during the last few weeks. Requirements iFakku will require a jailbroken iDevice with the Cydia application installed. It is designed to work for iOS7+. Universal iFakku was designed to be a Universal Application, what this means is that the same app is optimized for both iPhones and iPads (as opposed to having two different applications). Features iFakku 3.0 contains major improvements and optimization along with new features from the last version of iFakku. Your full username is the last segment of the URL, in my case, it would be without the greater than/less than characters. If you are an older user, your full username may not contain an id number. Is iFakku free? iFakku is 100% free and ad-free. I have no plans to use iFakku for monetization purposes. Will iFakku be open source? I plan to release the source code for iFakku at some point. I don't know when this will be. You should just know that the code is an absolute mess. I found a bug/have a suggestion, how do I contact you about it? The best way to get in touch with me is through the Fakku website itself. Just post your suggestion or bug onto the official iFakku thread under Forums > FAKKU Developers. I'm also on the Fakku IRC a lot under the handle TYN, so you can chat with me there as well. Any usage recommendations when using the app? Alright, so a lot of pages are reused, so there's a lot of checking code. My only suggestion is to view Downloaded manga from the Downloaded tabs since the images are loaded internally, and thus, much faster. What are the "Fakku Forums" and "Official iFakku Thread" buttons on the User page? I just put those there to make it easier to get to the forums. They're simply web views displaying the respective pages. Obviously, if you think I'm out to steal your password because I somehow rigged the web view (I didn't), don't use it. I lurk the forums a lot. Version 3.0? What happened to Version 2.0? So I was programming version 2.0, but then I was super preoccupied with real life, so development stopped for many months. A lot of the code in iFakku 2.0 was also very experimental, so when I tried to start development again, I would just get too confused and stop. iFakku 3.0 is a fresh version of iFakku that refined the code in iFakku 2.0 and I feel it warrants a new version. Who are you? Just a user on Fakku, not even a prominent one at that. I used to have an Android phone and I loved the Fakku app for it (this was before the API came out) and was always disappointed that there wasn't an equivalent on iOS. How long did it take you to program the app? Funny story, I actually only adequately learned iOS programming a week before the Fakku API came out. It took me about 3 weeks to complete a decent app. I've been really busy. How do I donate? Thank you for the consideration, but iFakku doesn't need funding. Special Thanks Spoiler:Orarius Orarius helped me sketch up designs for a new verion of iFakku. They were so pretty they basically motivated to improve on the UI of the old iFakku. He also provided some awesome icons. Icertys Icertys handled early distribution of the app on Cydia which really helped the app gain exposure. He also created some vital backends that allowed this app to interact with the User Favorites page. He was also involved in the debugging on the beta versions of iFakku. icons8 Most icons are used from icons8. Jacob and the rest of the Fakku staff Needless to say, the only reason this app exists is due to all the hard work Jacob and the rest of the Fakku staff put into the website and into the API. And You For using this app. Additional Comments I spent a large amount of time developing the app and consequently lost a lot of sleep from it. In the end, I developed an application that I was very satisfied with and I hope you enjoy using it as much as I do. Known Issues The Downloader seems to be having random errors. If this happens, uninstall and reinstall iFakku. This is being looked into. It's best to slow down on the Downloader (so don't add too many manga to the download queue.) Sorry for the inconvenience. I'm under the handle TYN Thanks for downloading! Update Dec 10, 2014: Progress is steady so far. Constantly optimizing the UI for iPhones and iPads is a huge pain in the ass. Yes, this app is intended to work for iOS 7 and above, so I'm working on 2 storyboards for anyone who is interested. Admittedly, I haven't started working on the Downloader or Reader yet, but those shouldn't be much trouble since all the code for them is already written. Update Dec 17, 2014: The reader is completed and there are some improvements, which more attention on the ease of use. Images now load dynamically while reading as opposed to the previous versions, when all images had to load before the manga can be read. It is also planned that when all images are loaded while reading, the manga can be downloaded instantly, instead of all images being re-downloaded. Basically, a bunch of improvements. Based on the rate of development right now, I'll highly speculating the app will be completed approximately late January. Sorry for the inconvenience. Hi everyone! To be honest, the UI is not that bad, I've seen much worse. I'm no coder, so the UI is plenty impressive already xD.

Sure thing, I can make more pictures and whatever else you need if it will help! I'm sure you're busy (as is I to some sense), and I can see why you might think it's not worth it, so I can understand if you never get a chance. I just really love your idea and feel like it's the closest I've seen to a complete project and I'm willing to help what little I can =P

Again, keep up the great work and feel free to take your time! I.m sure we all appreciate it! =)

Really liking this app so far, great job! My only suggestion would be to allow the screen to be viewed in landscape mode (moving the screen horizontally so it all zooms in ya know?) to make it easier to read. Other than that it's pretty damn good! Hope to see updates whenever you get the time to work on it some more. Until then just know you did a damn good job!

I am actually extremely busy from now until the end of November :C I will definitely consider an update then, however, some bits of the API are still unfinished (such as http://api.fakku.net/doujinshi/series) and it's quite discouraging that some parts of this app would not be working. However, landscape mode is a feature I wanted to add originally, however, it was causing some orientation problems.

Like I mentioned in a pervious post, I'm not sure if this will be worth it since the iPhone app doesn't seem as popular as the Android ones. While I highly, highly, highly appreciate all the amazing feedback, I'm not sure they'll be enough people using the app to make it worth the effort :C

Any change of getting this open sourced or maybe releasing to source to other iOS developers? That way, people who have the ability can compile and sign/install it on their phones without having to jailbreak anything?

Hi, I am aware of this issue. It's actually caused by what I believe is an unintended change in the API. However, I'm currently developing iFakku 2.0, which includes major improvements, I won't be fixing this issue in iFakku 1.1.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused. Downloaded Manga should still be viewable though.

Thanks for putting all the time into this project. A nice app for fakku on iOS for 6 Plus and iPad is great as that is one of the things I miss just switching from android. Looking forward to the new update! ^^

Quite frankly though, the source code is one huge mess. If you like things to be logical, you'll hate my code. I'm actually quite scared myself about looking at the code again.

However, I think I will get the source code on Github once I have access to it (: I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out considering my first few releases. I will post an update on this thread once I have.

As soon as I saw the final version was out I installed it right away. I have to thank you, I was looking for an iOS app to read manga and doujins on fakku for a long time. So far the app has been working great and I have absolutely no complains.
