Internet in RL

I was walking along minding my business when out of the orange colored sky two people and sat on a floating table. Now, they definitely were unusual as they just fell from the sky and probably only warranted a glance or two but the massive amount of child that emanated from their face made me want just go up there and slap in the face. This may or may not have been so bad but this continued to persist for a while. I put my jetpack on and flew up to them and ask
Okay I don't know where I was going with that but the point is people think it's funny for some reason to just act stupid in real life as they do on the internet and it's pissing me off. They talk of memes and other drabble which is fine occasionally maybe a little, but it is like the only thing they have is the internet. Not only that but these people are rude and I can't help but think if they were already jerks or the internet takes stupid jerks turn them into more of what they are.

Sadly, I agree with you. Of course, there's also the type of people who are really fluent in real life, but put them in front of a computer and all their grammar and politeness just goes out the door in favor of trolling.

Anonymity offers a lot the human psyche. They can say whatever they want with basically no threat of retaliation. It happens, and will continue to happen. "Trolling" is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard of. There is no such thing. It's just people being dumbasses, thinking they can score a few laughs.
People these days are "two-faced." They have a real-life persona, and an online one. But it seems that some people are starting to blur the line. But what they don't seem to realize, that talking bullshit on the internet may not have any drastic consequences, but if you try it in real-life, you'll most likely end up with a punch to the face.
But in some ways, it's almost like a release for our anger. People go through a lot daily. It's understandable because everyone has to be nice and polite, despite whatever befalls you. People need a way to release all the stress and anger, they can do it over the internet. People can't do shit to you. It's not bad as long as it's in moderation.

Agreed. One of the most annoying things is that kids seem to think it's fine to take the horrible grammar from the internet and use it in real life. Sure the grammar nazi in me can handle bad spelling, grammar, and lack of politeness online, but when it affects how people actually talk, that's when a line has been crossed.
It seems like kids aren't being taught grammar in school anymore. The future is doomed >_

Don't you just love walking past a a group of /b/tards or hearing the latest internet memes repeated over and over and fucking over at your local hangouts? Yeah! Me too!

Like many others have said, i also hate people who take shit too far. but what bugs me a little more is people who are so up tight or full of them selves that they belittle anyone who does anything remotely 'immature'. for example, i like to play with my friends kids and act silly. when ever we were out in public, like at a store or something, people would give me looks like i was too old to be acting like that. some old bitch even told me i needed to grow up.
kids are awesome because they don't care what other people think.

Yeah if you look at trolling as an Internet version of riding a shop trolley then it's fine - as long as you don't hit anybody.
I think it's also pointless to argue how stupid b/yards are for trolling. If you don't like it, don't visit 4chan.
And last thing - certain noises and sayings are just conversation fillers. Memes are the conversation fillers for the people who read them, so no need to get too heated up about somebody saying a your mum joke, or posting a shitbrix as a reply.... For them it's natural but it might not be on fakku, which is why I don't se where this thread is going other than relieving the general stress caused by trolls...
O.O

The internet and the real world are different, of course, but they also call for a different language and manor. Some people like one more than the other which is fine but they need to know the boundaries. The internet is just oneself but in rl one adds on a number of different things(look, speak, appearance, etc.) so they clash or are not accepted. People just need to realize the two don't mix.

I think meme(ers?) are a pretentious bunch. They seem to think that memes are inside jokes that only they and their close friend "the internet" know about. I remember when adult swim used "courage wolf" on air.
Everyone got mad, and 4chan boards ranted for days. Apparently, using memes is an internet thing that can only be used by the little people. It seems like this sense of ownership lets people feel like they can take the next step and show "their" memes in real life. But it just symbolizes a shift in society the reflects a generation that is growing up with the internet their from day 1 of their lives.
The lines between "the internet" world and the "real world" are blurred because the difference is become more theoretical and philosophical. Still, the line has not yet blurred enough to see people acting out obscure memes in real life.

To me I see it as society adapting to the ever-growing advancements in technology. When technology advances so does the people regardless if the outcome.

I don't think they are "advancing". It think the proliferation of pop culture is just becoming easier and easier to do and is reaching a wider base.

That right there for starters, but honestly I only see such actions on the young, browsing at the local bookstore and over hearing the youngsters use net terms out loud etc. can get on my nerves but when these kids are only 10 I can cast it aside, I've only seen older youths act those ways if they're the extreme and by that I mean wearing naruto cosplay constantly, or cat ears/tail, yes I've seen this before, and quite often at a local anime store (of course).
I can remember certain times talking amongst friends and we all go off on tangent and began sounding like such fools we all laugh then realize we aren't kids anymore. When you're with your friends it fine to just turn your brain off for a few seconds but only if you all agree to do the same at least in my case when I am with my friends.
That's just my views on this, when I am with family, co-workers and acquaintances my own mannerism are completely different then they are on the net (believe it or not, its up to you).
