I'm new to the forums, so i really hope this is solvable
case:
iPod Touch 2G
Jailbroken with Geohot
Power button & volume buttons spoilt(wont even respond to presses)
my iPod Touch became real laggy 1 day, so i decided to reboot it. big mistake. now when i try to switch it on(via plugging in power cable), it shows the apple logo, then it auto switches off...(i don't even get to see the lockscreen. just the logo, then the screen goes black)
i can make it go into recovery mode(with the plug-into-itunes picture), but i don't want to restore it to factory status (i have a huge load of apps in it and i haven't done a backup on it. if i restore, those apps are gone...)
is there anyway to at least retrieve the files from the iPod Touch in recovery mode before i restore it? or is there anyway of forcing the iPod Touch to boot itself up normally...?
any help is greatly appreciated :)

Not sure how to do it with an iPod but with my Sansa which I've put Rockbox on I can boot it normally by holding down the left button while powering it on. Maybe there's something similar for the jailbreak? I'd check the website and look for a FAQ or a manual.

If the iPod can't even turn on, no luck dude.
But if the iPod can turn on,
try holding the Power button and the Home button simultaneously until the screen goes black and the apple logo comes on. Maybe that will help.
If not, try downloading this program called "Respring" from Cydia.
When the download is done, Click on Respring.
If the iPod goes into the "Sad iPod" mode, click Respring again.
maybe that will help.
If everything fails, restore your iPod and instead of jailbreaking with the one you just did with (Which is crap), do it with blackra1n

try go to the technician cuz " i think the problem is that your ipod touch seems you change it in a 3rd party. Jailbreak for short.. so i think that's a bug.. no choice format it.. or go to the repair shop.. or something.

MP3... I believe iPod Touch is the best portable music/video/gaming device there is on earth, maybe except iPhoneFor solid music playback, the iPod line is not really all that amazing. They can't provide a decent output for lossless music. Also, the iPhone is exactly the same as the iPod touch. It's not really better at all.
The iPod touch is the best all-round pocket device (that isn't a smarphone), but by no means is it the best music player.
