Is Apple Losing It?
0
I'll be honest. I don't like Apple nor do I care for any of their products (that includes the iphone). I never liked the way how Apple did business, always outdating their products without even giving them time to sell on the market. Case and point being the iphone, when it Apple released a new version of it with a larger hard drive and a significantly lower price. But after seeing the ipad, I just shook my head in disapproval. Quite frankly, the thing seems to be an overgrown iphone. One that you can't fit in your pocket. To the best of my knowledge, there's no case for the thing either, meaning that ipads are bound to go through a gauntlet of scratches and being dropped. I don't want to go over the overall design of the thing, but everytime I see Apple try to push this product as if it's the greatest thing ever, it feels like they're trying to sucker people into buying something they don't really need. But what really kills me is how all of the Apple fan-boys soak it up, believing that everthing Apple makes is pure gold when there are equally great (if not better) products on the market.
Not too long ago, I heard about how an Apple employee 'misplaced' a prototype of the iphone at a bar, which eventually ended up in the hands of a gizmodo reporter. The sheer fact that the employee wasn't shot and left for dead in the Mojave desert leads me to believe that it was Apple's way to get attention.
How about the rest of you? Anyone else feel the same way about Apple as I do?

Kind of Important
A ray of Tsunlight.
I've never really been a fan of Apple, nor it's products.
But their business process is simple.
They build stuff people will (and do) buy. Regardless of it is great or not, they snatch them up. And Jobs, in his pseudo-evil fortress, laughs himself to sleep every night on huge piles of money.

Everyone on this forums will probably agree with you. You've come to the right place for Apple-haters.
Just one thing, I recommend you read up on that iPhone story again before concluding it was a controlled leak.

I have never had any apple products before, but it I have heard about that incident and I can see what you mean. They do seem to have a lot of attention so I would not be surprised if this could be one of their ideas to do so.

Simply? Yes.
A long time ago they made great stuff! Really pushed the whole creative/indie type feel with their products. But now Jobs is slowly letting his megalomania take over: that, coupled with Apple's dominance of the portable/handheld device market, is ruining their great legacy.
I knew it was bad when they changed from Apple Computer to just plain old Apple. They're forgetting the computer aspect of their company so much these days, it seems. :(

I own two apple products,s an iPod Classic 80GB Black and an iPhone 3G 8GB. I'm not an apple fanboy, nor do I think of myself as one. but the iPad is more like someone decided to oversize an iPod Touch. it has no phone capabilities(That I know of).
The reason I have these two apple products is because they were the most decent priced for quality at the time of when I bought them.
I bought my 80GB iPod a few months after the 6th Gen came out, not on release mind you, I only bought a new MP3 player because my old one died on me.
The iPhone I have I bought when the 3Gs came out(Major price drop) and this was before any real touch screen market competition was out there(Yes the LG Vu was out at this time but it's just a piece of shit)
But moving on this is the bad about what I own
iPod I can't really think of anythign because it does what I want it to.
iPhone:
- will not let you make custom ring tones for it without knowledge of back doors around not buying things from iTunes
- Will not let you change the SMS tones unless you hack your phone
- Ridiculous prices for things that are actually useful in the apps store
- GPS System is not accurate enough But then that's easier said than done with Google anyways their addressing on world view is close to a quarter mile off as it is.

I basically don't buy Apple Stuff because it's restricting. My 1st impression is "It hates open source and customization.
so all the things that I buy that I can compare that is better than Apple's stuff
Customization Vs Restriction
Creative Zen Vision:M >>> IPod movie (even made my friends in class realize that Ipod is over-priced with this)
Windows PC >>> Mac PC (just because it has open source and application that I personally like, and I've been using windows since I was a toddler)
I'm not into the whole touch screen phone yet.

Yeah, I'm not fond of Apple myself. They've become the gangster of the industry now that Microsoft has gone a bit into the background of the electronic industry, what with the overall failure of Vista and dividing their time between OS and the Xbox 360.
I've never owned an Apple product, and I never intend to.

Apple used to be an awesome company, they are no longer. They screw early adopters of their products by limiting their products upon first release in order to add things later as "features". The iPad could have been an awesome device, instead it's a more expensive iPhone with less features and a larger screen.

Never been a fan of apple, so I definitely hope they are losing it. First time I even herd about the I-Pad I just about fell out of my computer chair laughing at how stupid it is.

apple is lame. the only people i know who like apple, either started on one, or say it's because it's easier to use than windows. yet, those same people complain more when using apples than they do when using windows.

I'll hand it Apple. They know how to market their stuff. People eat it up every time something new pops up. Their products on their other hand, is a completely different story.

apple sucks except for the ipod nano (1st gen).that thing was too sick.
other than the first nano, apple is too overpriced and too unreliable.
i stick to buying cheap 10-20 buck mp3 players, they last me forever and
can stand way more torture than an ipod could.
BTW props to daniel tosh for smashing that ipad to pieces with a golf club.
