Both; the biological need is obvious, and the psychosocial aspect just comes from living with other people and having things like social status and expectations.
You need to have sex and at the same time, are supposed to or even expected to by your peers or even family.

defiantly both. As a girl, you can get physically addicted, but the mental is obvious. my ex bf was sexually abusive (I've delt with it and im over it now tho so yay ^-^) and he got me addicted to it even though it was technically rape (I REALLY didn't want it...) and that sucked for a while after we broke up...

i would say both, in that there is both a sexual drive in us that is driven by our instincts, and then every person has there own different things that turns them on

biological en psychological is a lot more connected than most people tend to think..
if it's a psychological need, there ought to be a biological need.. when there's a biological need that doesn't have to mean there's a psychologicaal need too..
but everyone knows people like sex right =P [psychological --> biological]

Both. we have a biological need for sex so we can produce, and a mental need for pleasure.

It would have to be both because psychosocial can deal with mental processes which would be biological.

If female ferrets can't orgasm in the time they are in heat, their uterus will rot and they will die.

I imagine we do have an instinctual desire to reproduce. Psychosocial too, if you think about it. I really don't get aroused unless prompted, so I guess you could consider me asexual. Happy to not have sex! It's not celibacy, the desire just isn't there. I guess nature does not want me to reproduce? Well, that's okay with me.
