"A lot of people ask what do i have to do to improve my skills. I think the question is more, what are you willing to give up, rather than what are you willing to do" - Brad Rigney aka cryptcrawler
Random sketchbook junk and all that jazz. I'll be keeping track of my process to be less of a newb.
All Critiques are welcome and appreciated. Most recent images will be on last page. I'll update pretty randomly though :p

Hey Fellas, here's something more. This one is the most recent out of any of my stuffs, just a light sketch with some clean ups on photoshop. I should mention i did this one with Nash in mind for whatever reason so the only thing that came to mind was Nazis.
Much Love Fakku
EDIT: Removed the pic here, refer to OP to see it

Daily sketch dump, This is my sketchbook for today. Just a bunch of messy stuff, i don't bother cleaning these up. Incidentally i did these while watching that Time Machine Bath tub comedy movie, it wasn't very funny by the way.

Quite interesting stuff. Just out of curiosity, what is your inspiration (if you have some in particular)?

Usually when i'm having a creativity session i'll pop open my Inspiration folder, i have a big chunk of images there of just ... everything
Machine Guns
Dresses
Candy
Trees
List goes on. Among other things i keep a big log of other artists which have really impressed me and i kind of soak in aspects of their art i like with mine everyday, experiment with noses/eyes/expression etc.... hopefully the end result will be a more unique art style of my own.
Some of those artists are Andree Wallin, Keunju Kim (rabbiteyes), Hector Sevilla (Elsevilla), gueuzav, Hyung Tae Kim, cellar-fcp, Roboto-kun.

Some good work. You have some lovely anatomy drawings, however your still-life skills are still quite sub-par.
The problem is with your sense of gradation and shadow. Learn how light behaves, because it isn't shadows that make a form look 3d but the transition of value in tone/tint of a hue that the effect of light creates.

Hmm i think i see what you mean. I might experiment with small shapes and blocks to get a good feel on value.

Try looking through these two websites if you haven't already.http://www.ctrlpaint.com/

As for your recent value study...For future reference, I'd say try not to lay down the values until you get your base drawing down correctly first.
Yeah i already have control paint on bookmarks, i'll take a gander at that other site now, Thanks for the info Rin, much appreciated. i was playing around with another digital painting style which involves painting directly from the shading and values, without laying down lineart first. The idea is to draw the form based on values, i fucked it up big time to be honest.
Here's an example of what i'm talking about, done by someone who knows what he's doing. I'm probably describing it horribly.
