Lovely work. It seems like there has been a lot of talented artists who've started showcasing their art here recently. :)

I love the way you use color. It looks like you just lay down blocks of color really quickly without blending a lot, and the result is really simple yet beautiful.

My favorite of the pieces you've posted is probably the one of Morrigan- the subtle reds in her skin and the vivid palette of her costume go really well against the background. I do feel like her arms might be a little too long though, her right arm in particular.

I hope you stick around these forums and drop by the "Challenge Me" thread some time. I would love to see more from you. :)

Hey Adelaide, i'd love to see some of your bare bone sketches. I always feel it's easier to connect to an artist when you can see all those eraser smudges and contour lines. Though CGs are just as lovely.

The tegaki dump in the first post is pretty much the barest of the bare that I do I guess haha

the arms and legs look way to skinny and from looking the right arm (her left) doesn't look correct...

Uhm... pal, that's her style. I also have a style with skinny legs and arms and highly disproportioned by the angle. She is not aiming at all to an anatomically perfect body, her style focuses in cuteness and dynamism.

Pal, different tastes. If it were for that, just look at the face of anime characters. People is not like that. If in real life we meet someone with such huge eyes, lack of nose and lips, huge heads and weird hair colors, run for your life!! it's a fucking alien clown!!

really anime is not like real people? r u kidding me? honestly anime/manga art style or wat ever type of style ur doing will always include human anatomy in it so do ur research and even wen ur drawing u should see it

More than saying it is wrong, I think you should better accept that it just doesn't suit your tastes at all something that is not realistic or follow strictly the correct human anatomy. I respect that, I also don't like many art styles and even feel many of them disgusting. For example, I hate bible black style.

Since its art, there's not a fixed concept of what is wrong and what is right, beauty is in the eye of the watcher. I understand what you'r trying to say, and indeed, comparing with real human anatomy, EVERYTHING here is wrong. But that's not the goal. If bugs bunny or mickey mouse were drawn as real animals nobody would even care about them.

well human anatomy has rules
while cartoon anatomy (not the japanese ones) has no rules.

I disagree, in order to know how to properly have your characters standing/sitting/running or doing any kind of action you need to have some kind of a grasp on human anatomy. As someone said "Cartoonists exaggerate the human form, in order to do it properly they have to know the general structure of the form to begin with." I will agree i don't see anything wrong with her art, everything flows pretty naturally i'm mainly commenting on the fact cartoon anatomy has no rules.

While you may be accustomed to the typical anime style, proportions there aren't necessarily correct anyways nor do they always follow the simple "rules" of anatomy. There are plenty of artists with stylized anime influence and some of the best ones make up their own rules of anatomy.
Even in historical art it's been proven, ie, the Egyptians and the Greeks both calculated a form of their own anatomy for the human form that wasn't necessarily proper to how humans actually are. The Greeks formed a "perfect" sense of proportion that while appearing to be proper to actual human anatomy and proportion, it wasn't.
As C13R-66Y said, cartoonists exaggerate proportions and stylize the human form and yet it still comes across as human there's no argument about that. What Adelaide is doing is exactly that: using her own sense of style to dictate proportions and execution of the artwork.

Now if any of that reached your brains and you understand the concept, there will be no further need of argument over the issue.

It's really okay you guys. Everyone has their own opinions and honestly, all this negativity around the thread is sort of a muse killer.
I really appreciate all the feed back.

I know that my art isn't perfect, and I'm not trying to pretend it is. I upload sketches and quick cgs here. And while I try my best, I can't please everyone's tastes all the time. Afterall, I enjoy my style and my art and in the end that's all that really matters I guess. I don't mind critiques and comments but please just don't fight amongst yourselves. ITS ALL OKAY IF WE DON'T WIN AN INTERNET DEBATE ONCE IN A WHILE RIGHT?
