Katanaka or Hiragana?

Lol, the fact that he can't spell Katakana right makes me wonder if the guy's serious about learning Japanese.

You should be learning both at the same time. Kanji comes after.

Don't even think about learning kanji until you know how to read and speak Japanese.

Hell, even my friends in japan dont know how to read most kanji, its that fucking hard.

If you study at school, you should be able to read both without problem within a two weeks period, and to read Japanese, you will need both. Therefore, do both =D Order don't matter, but you will most likely see more of Hiragana, so quickly learn that and then jump over to Katakana.
