Are you comfortable without them knowing? Or does it feel like it's something you should tell them? Four of my closest friends know I'm all about hentai, and everyone else knows I love anime as well. But I feel just fine with where I'm at. Eventually I feel like I will tell the rest of my close friends more about myself, but as of right now, I keep it to myself. Whenever you feel is right, let them know. Otherwise, you might regret revealing it to them. Your family shouldn't judge you too harshly, because after all, they are your family. They love you unconditionally, or at least I hope so.

Well as long as it isn't pornographic in nature, there shouldn't be any issues with reading or watching anime/manga/doujinshi. Although reading or watching hentai on the open can have... repercussions.

dude one time i thought about that same thing. but then i realized that you really shouldn't care what people think. i know it can be hard cuz you want others to have a high opinion of you and not think your weird or whatever but if you have to hide something that you enjoy just to make people like you, then they are only friends with the fake you. you should show your whole self that way you will know who really accepts you and who doesn't.

If they are your real friends they wont give a crap what you watch or read , i dont really see why this stuff is so embarasing i mean they prob like stuff like starwars or lord of the rings correct? its all geek stuff , personally i say dont hide your geeky [or nerdy if you prefer] likes embrace it and let others know , but it does come down to whether or not you feel comfortable telling them , if you do tell them i woudnt make it like a confession type thing just read one by them or something , course im on the assumption we are talking non H anime here , i woudnt go around reading H stuff around your friends

My parents know, they just don't talk about it. It's like knowing your dad and mom have sex but you don't really want to talk about it... It's a fact that's known but not really worth talking about for me. Where I live, everyone is a pretentious prick who thinks they're better than everyone else.. my parents know i watch anime, and read manga(lol they've seen me dozens of times during the night 12am-3am) reading some black and white drawings which given their backward mindset think are for kids. ,my brother reads manga and watches anime with me so he has always known. my friends might know that i watch anime because I've mentioned it a couple of times. but no one beside my brother knows that i watch/read hentai(at least if none of them is a member of fakku which i seriously doubt). but if it comes to me telling them about anime then i would definitely tell them if they asked and i would feel just sorry for them since they probably consider movies as the best/most entertaining things to watch on tv...
