yup. but in that kind of situation your choice to do both (if none is no longer an option, imagine your close one is almost ascending before you) is a rare decision.

yep that's actually what I was thinking of when I made this topic the saw movies you got to basically see what people are doing in the movies but you never really got any in depth detail on what you(unless you thought about it yourself) or what the other people around you may have done(or hoped they would do, people can say what they "will" do but in matters of life or death, adrenaline, fear or stress/anxiety might change what you actually do)
so I figured I'd just post that question here to see what people say.

Depending on who it is, I'd probably say I'd take the rap, if nothing happened after a while. Would give it some time, and see what would happen if I did nothing

Though the thing that's stopping me from that line of thought is that the person on my place [if our roles got reversed] would have the same dilemma. I don't want them to kill themselves. They don't want to shoot. Our thoughts and feelings are apparent, if they just stopped caring about life and death for a sec they'd see that any outcome has as much right to happen. Accepting it (and doing dubs if we had that agreement) is how I see it.

Glad to hear that. These hypothetical murder/suicide topics kinda imply "no one knows how it will turn out in the end" but it's nice that you saw my point.

Honestly, immediately I thought, "fire the bullet either into the lock (if there is a lock that can be shot off) or into a surface that can absorb the round". I'd rather not agonize over it, just remove the bullet from the situation. If the other person can talk, they'd start considering it and may make a rash decision themselves. No bullet means that at a death is no longer guaranteed. If we starve to death, so be it, at least we'll have a few days (depending on the room's environment, too hot and we'll dehydrate sooner, too cold and we'll freeze, etc). Without the bullet all decisions must be thought out, plans can be made, options may be limited by the loss of the resource, but removing 2 bad options outweighs that in my opinion.

If this is a sort of Jigsaw behind the whole thing I expect some trap to be behind the locked door or a means of killing both of us I did try to do something funny. So with the thought of the person I care for most I would sacrifice myself since he would contribute more to society than I would. Though, I hope it wouldn't be in vain and he just throws his own life away afterwards.

What exactly is so hard about the situation? You have one bullet, a person tied up, and if you don't kill them, both of you die. If you take the time to consider morals and other shit, you give the other person a chance to get loose and kill you. In such a situation, you'd have to be an extremely exceptional person, in my mind, to survive.
