Laser Eye Surgery

Currently im thinking about getting Laser eye surgery and I did a little search on the forums and surprisingly didnt find a topic on this.

Im just wondering if anyone on Fakkus had anything done as id be very interested to know about your experiences.

Ive done some research on laser eye surgery and it all seems to make sense, ive also seen a few videos showing the procedure but im still a little nervous about having my eye sliced open with a mini tin opener and having a laser cracking over my cornea.

The thought of having 20/20 vision or even decent vision without fucking contacts is highly appealing to me but its always nice to ask others before taking the plunge.

I have extremely terrible vision thats been degrading since I was a kid.
So I kinda need the surgery or risk going blind in the not so far future.
I rather get the laser surgery though, not just because the slicing would scare me, but it also depends on how steady the surgeons hand is as well.
So I rather depends on a machine for that.

I would love to have 20/20 vision, too bad I don't. It's tempting, but at the same time it seems really, really risky.

A friend of mine was considering this. The surgeon told her that her vision has to be steady for several months. Mine (and hers ) keep gradually getting worse and my optician told me that this can keep going till you are 25.

I also wanted to, but with all the risk it has i just stick to contacts.
Your eyes are the most important thing you have dont risk them :)

I used to have one bad eye (my Right eye) the vision wasn't clear and it doesn't pick up every colour as well as my left, but I wore a patch over my left eye and It regained streagth over 2-3 months. Eye[size=10](love puns)[/h][size=12] [/h] can now see with perfect vision, but colour is still a problem, it is balanced out becuase of my left though

Laser Surgery wasn't much of an option for me, having to travel into a major city and the cost of it is something else... But, Its diffinitly would be worth it to go from anthing else too 20/20 vision.

Im luck 15/20 left 20/20 right, the surgery sounds pretty dangerous though

I actually need the same thing, I have something called astigmatism on my left eye, while my right one really good... Its something like distorted sight and no glasses really help since I have quite a severe case it seems. I know some things like there being a danger of losing sight or that it sometimes doesnt succeed.

As mentioned, the two biggest dangers are surgery foul ups - though these are pretty rare - and your sight further deteriorating as you grow older and then you'd have a lot harder time getting it fixed.

Keep in mind though that so far (AFAIK) only laymen have posted. Ask an optician/doctor who's not directly involved in the surgery business.

After reading this, I think I'll back down on having a Laser Eye Surgery. ._. Sound painful. I don't care now even if my eye is continuously deteriorating. I'll just get new lens for my glasses then.

Apparently its not painfull just mildly uncomfortable because they med you up before the operation otherwise theres NO WAY IN HELL id do it either! :)

I talked to Mr.Murphy my optician who ive gone to for years and he says that id have no problem having this done. (Hes a good guy)

My eyesights absolute dogshit. (-7 in the lefteye and -8.5 in my right eye) I need decent eyesight to follow my dream... Bad eyesights always held me back from whatever ive wanted to do but I came to a decision recently to just man up and do something about it. To do whatever it takes!!
