Looking for management software

While my collection is pretty well organized I don't remember the character/genre/era/hair color about every comic/video/picture/game I have so I was hoping that there was software out there that would allow me to tag and add descriptions to the folders so that I may easily locate and share something upon someones request :)

I decided upon Picasa for now, not the best solution but it lets you add tags/descriptions to folders and search for them.
