You know, when I first heard that they were turning this into a movie, I rolled my eyes...but the trailer changed my mind, this looks hilarious. It's about time for a decent SNL movie, they are so rare...

SNL movies are rare indeed. Remember Wanye's World and Ghost Busters? Those are classics.

Mmm, I wouldn't count Ghostbusters as an SNL film. It didn't spawn from a sketch, just cast members from SNL were responsible for the script/creation.


Blues Brothers and A Night at the Roxburry would be two others.

There are a lot of SNL movies. They just haven't made many recently, possibly because the show isn't as popular anymore (and isn't as good).

I don't know the character MacGruber, and maybe that's why, but I think the movie looks horrible. You'd have to pay me to watch it.

He's a parody of Macguyver, a guy that could use mundane things to get out of dangerous situations.
