Magic the Gathering

Lots of interesting decks being built around stuff in the Innistrad block, especially the lastest set, Avacyn Restored, with it's many interesting holy and unholy beings, angels and demons, specifically. The other sets, Innistrad and Dark Ascension, had plenty of zombies, werewolves, and vampires to build around.

That seems interesting.

I always like building a white/red deck and with the new set, I can probably start working on a new deck with it. I still like my Ravnica white/red deck though, but I can't find it anywhere. Hopefully I can find a white/red set of Ravinca sold somewhere.

I'm pretty up to date on MTG. The last thing I did was play in a draft tourney for Dark Ascension. I haven't touched Avacyn Restored yet cause of my exams right now.

I only have 2 decks that are standard legal right now. Mono red goblins, and B/U Metalmorph Demons.

I could pull out the list of cards in each set from the database for you, if you haven't already.

Lol, zetsubo, I think I have 1 deck that's standard-legal, and maybe two others that would be if I changed some cards in it, but would then suck.

I been playing since Kamigawa. I have a bunch of decks that are Extended, and a few that are Legacy.

My favourite set by far is Ravnica. I fucking loved Guildpact. I ran B/G control, cause Golgari was the most OP guild.

I usually try to build quirky decks that have a chance of winning. Like a Wall deck, Sheep tokens, Cascade into Balance, Remove all your land from the game etc.

golgari? nah, azurious pwns all (golgari is definitely fun, tho. probably my favorite)

Guild Theme based decks during those days were fun, izzet,boros, and the token deck of selensya.

yeah. nowadays it's usually tribal themed decks, which ain't bad either, tho.

Played some Magic with some local people. They lent me a deck since I don't have one. Got to say that the Kors and Equipment deck that I used raped. Won every single game they let me borrow.

Also played a game of Emperor. Was interesting and enjoyable.

Going back next week to play again. Going to try to find some pre-mades to use though.

Anyone getting the new planechase cards coming this friday? My friend's gonna go get 'em so we could gather some friends to play it this weekend.

they're having an event at my local comicbook shop for that, unfortunately in gotta work -_-

While we're on the subject, ninjas are awesome. My friend and I love annoying other players in multiplayer games using our ninja decks. And me, him, and a teacher I had in highschool are gonna have a three-way ninja battle when he's available, see who's the best.

hmmm, i'm definitely likin that clone ninja, sakashima's student.

i wasn't playing during kamigawa (started in shadowmoor), and no one plays kami-themed decks in my playgroups, so i missed out on ninjas. but i'm pretty sure people will start with that "night of the ninjas" deck.

damn, i usually hate doing this but....i gotta see if i can get off work for the event on friday...

My friend started in the kamigawa set and loved that set 'cus he's a total japanphile. He's made a deck around each of the mechanics, too. Not sure I really like the soulshift stuff though, but I'll just have to play it one day to find out.

But back on topic, I'll need to finally splash black in my ninja deck so I can incorporate the new blue/black ninja as well as make room for Sakashima's Student and the other black ninjas.

Recently bought the MTG 2010 white set and Avacyn Restored sets off of Amazon.com due to me not having any more MTG cards and I'm trying to restart playing this again.

Just wondering if these sets are still legal in tournaments and the such. Trying to re-build a White/Red deck. Any suggestions?

i only play commander, but i'm pretty sure m10 is not standard legal. unfortunately i can't help you with any deck builds for standard (i used to play standard....i hated it, lol)

And you won't be able to use 2010.

And, at least during limited formats, I've seen that human tribal has done pretty well in the latest block, and some of the angels interact with them well, like one has the effect "As long as you control a human, this is indestructible and has hexproof".

Red also has some nice vampires available to them this block, many that get +1/+1 counters anytime they deal combat damage to a player.
