Even if they say, "make yourself at home", I really just stay out of the way and ask before I do anything. This, it's considered rude if you don't ask for permission here, even though they already said "that"
I feel when they say that it an absolute lie. Some sort of custom to say that isn't true to carry out. Also it is someones house so to impose is very disrespectful.

Meh, I would just probably relax on the couch and watch something. If they ask me if Im hungry, I ask for whatever is available.

Good answers. I myself usually go sit when they tell me to and if they offer me something to drink/eat, I gladly accept.

Not in a corner but when i'm a guest in somebody's house i stand where i'm asked to wait until further notice.I'm not just going to sit down with out being asked to you know.

Well, I'd probably have to meet somebody for them to tell me that.
Too much effort on my part, and I'm perfectly fine at home.
But, for the sake of this, it would probably take me a couple times to be comfortable enough to do anything other than get myself a glass of water.

First couple of visits I'm usually a bit too uncomfortable to do much, once I get a feel for their habits at home I usually try to accommodate that.This. Even if they're my relatives it still feels awkward the first few times.

They say make yourself at home to make you more comfortable but they might as well be saying "sit on the couch and don't breathe" because that's how it feels like. Well, unless I've been friends with them for years.

Depends on how easy-going they seem to be.
If they're snooty and uptight, I'll be cordial and polite.
If they're pals, then I'll just do whatever the fuck I please.

Act like a decoration on the living room, but after a lot of visits I tend to joke and have fun with the family, if they are easy going

[font=verdana][color=green]I totally just walk to their fridge and help myself.
Nah, I'm kidding. I actually do the opposite; don't accept any invitations for food or drink, as it seems like I'd be stealing, even though their offering it to me.

First thing I do is go to the fridge and pour myself a cup of juice.
Turn their computer on and watch youtube videos.
Later I go to grab something to eat and crash on their couch.

Yeah, "make yourselves at home" is very vague, so I generally don't say that. My preferred phrase is "if you need anything, just ask," and the guests generally do--I'm not very picky about sharing most things.
